I guess it is American Fuel Import 'costs' and the British Government Fuel Tax

Cheapest gas is close to $5.00 per gal.....other blends are $5.00 or more...I did not see many folks buying it yesterday....we do not have a lot of public transportation in California....everything is spread out, we all use our cars a lot for daily life. Many are really hurting with the price increase and raised taxes ... no jobs etc.

I allready am very thrifty with the use of may car...will get even more so as this continues.

I didn't respond at the moment, but sometimes I also feel foggy headed. I think it can be related to sinus issues. Chronic congestion is more my problem, but I do have mild allergies as well. No fun.

In Ohio, the state lays claim to property if you're on Medicaid and need nursing home care, as my husband did, so I have no excitment or motivation to pay off my mortgage. All of my mother's saving and proceeds from her house's sale had to go for her Alzheimer's care before Medicaid kicks in. I don't know if every state is like that. Since I'm disabled, I can continue to live here as long as I'm able. I'm at least thankful for that. My mom tried to have things planned out, but some things, you can't foresee. The best way around it is to transfer things to
your kids' names, way ahead of time, if you trust your kids. Here, it has to be five years prior to the illness.

My mom had private insurance and even nursing facility insurance, but the ran out. If she were aware of all this, she would be heartbroken.

I apologize of rambling. The point is, my mom couldn't leave anything to my sister and I. She thought she had it all planned out. Now, because of my husband's illness, my boys have no rights to my house. This happens to many people.

Yes, it is pretty-much the 'same' here
although the politicians did recently mention a base amount for such liability
~allowing more savings / equity to be discounted, before liability begins
As to whether this, was merely verbal diarrhoea.. or was indeed implemented
I do not know

It did at one time, [and, maybe still does] have immediate consequences
for family, also resident at the property of the person needing nursing home care
[including_ homelessness]

Hello Aloneagain,

Long-term nursing care has the same requirements here in Oklahoma and Texas. It doesn't take long to wipe out a lifetime of savings and everything you own.

By the way, I have the same problems with allergies or sinus that you do. I get horrible headaches from congestion. One of the things that helps me the most is using saline nasal spray numerous times a day. It's cheap, non-addictive, and it works for many people.

This is so sadly true here...or something very similar to it...we have a living trust set up, with our son's name as a co-executor. If we should fall ill he can legally do everything needed.

My mom had most of her assets in our name (me, and my brother) before she died suddenly of a heart attack.
WE never fought over a thing. Just cried buckets of tears when she died.

Upon my doctor's suggestion, I bought a Neti-pot. It helps unless I'm just plain swollen. At least, I think I'm swollen when it just hurts and is slow to run out. Sadly, I noticed more congestion after the kitty was on my lap for a while. So I've been keeping my distance.

I believe that unless a spouse is disabled, the state here also won't wait for property.

I used a neti-pot a while back...got afraid of the thing...now it is being suggested for aids to congestion.
Yep, the kitty very well could be a problem for your allergies....I wish it wasn't so for you tho.

I use a Vicks menthol inhaler [last thing at night]
to open the sinuses and will sometimes, also pressurise my ears to ensure open cavities

The 'kettle' idea, imbues the idea / thought, of pouring fluids into the nostrils
This wouldn't go down well with me
