Hi Yvie

Not so bad lately thank you

re: Moderator Training
I got diagnosed with 'heart failure'
so, with that, and other reasons, I decided, that 'then'
was not the time to start 'ANYTHING' that could give me 'stress'
re: the heart-failure...
newly prescribed meds: Ramipril and Bisoprolol
and a change of diuretics have concealed the diagnosed symptoms
and I am being sent for MRI scan of my heart
to complete a more thorough EXAMINATION / diagnosis
I look and feel much better

If you would like to show us the card/photo as well Yvie Sis'
that would be 'cool'

dave

Sorry to hear that...are you feeling better with the meds? When is the MRI? I'll be praying. How is Gail?

Here is a comparison done last week. I have since given it more detail. My interpration is the one on the right. Hope you enjoy. This was a fun one to do and the first since I fell ill last April. God bless.

Hey Dave, that is a wonderful observation...
We do have clouds blowing around, causing very scattered showers...at least I love the clouds and slight increase in humidity...I "almost" got cold in bed last night...not quite tho.

I took the 'revelation' re: my heart failure 'in my stride'
~I am not going anywhere... not, until He calls me

The med's, were initially prescribed at lowest doses
ie: Ramipril @ 1.25mg for one month and then 'upitrated'
to 2.5mg and now, I am @ 3.75mg
To begin with, I lost my sense of taste, except for fruits and curries
and I also became immediately intolerant of coffee
It would make me throw up, if I only held a few teaspoonsful, in my mouth

I have recovered my coffee drinking tolerance
but am now reluctant
to give up my 'crutch-replacement' for it, LEMON TEA :) mmmmmmmmhh!!

I am still awaiting, the 'appointment' to arrive [in the post]
The hospital at which it is to take place, is many miles away
I will when I know when, it is to be, approach my doctor
for 'transport', to and from the hospital

Our Sister Gail, has taken a leave of absence [?] from CF
and we wish her a refreshingly comforting 'retreat'
I myself, have felt just how tiring it can be; to find
we have committed ourselves, so widely
that there remains, so little time [to spare]
to give adequate attention to home and family matters

It is my intention, to concentrate upon, the GE Stickied threads
my own threads and the other favourite threads I visit here
My absence, from the games threads [in general] will, clearly be noticed

In this way, I will, I am sure, have more time [on my hands] ~for, 'true fellowship'

Your interpretation of the picture, is 'really good' Yvie Sis'
both, in form and in colour
Yes, I am sure, that if I lived there, I would instantly recognize it, from your painting

Keep up the good work

your Bro'

Yvie, I loved your painting and think that you are very talented. You certainly have an eye for details.

Brother Dave, you are in my prayers every day - as are others with needs and concerns. As usual, I try to pray for everyone, regardless of whether they have asked for prayer or not.

One more day and the weekend will be here, so I'm wishing everyone a great weekend early. May the peace of God be with you and your families.

Romans 15:13 KJV Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Brother Tom,

Thank you for your kind words.
I am humbled to be a part of this group as I exchange love and support in and through it's members. :groupray:

I pray that this forum may be a refuge in these perilous days.
As we know, the kingdom of God is at hand! :)

Yes, let's keep praying for brother Dave.
He so needs our prayers for healing and recovery.
He just gives and gives and never thinks of himself. :crossrc:
Let us pray that his yolk may be easy and that his burden may be light.

Thank you for the well wishes.
I also wish that you would have an excellent weekend.

Did you loose any heart muscle? How did this episode happen and what caused the diagnosis?

To begin with, I lost my sense of taste, except for fruits and curries and I also became immediately intolerant of coffee.

That sucks!

I have recovered my coffee drinking tolerance but am now reluctant to give up my 'crutch-replacement' for it, LEMON TEA :) mmmmmmmmhh!!

You can do it :prayer::holy::amen: There's also cinnamon, darjeeling, chinese green...too many to list. Some really have a bite to them.

I am still awaiting, the 'appointment' to arrive [in the post]

# heart muscle:

I was diagnosed with
'a thickened left ventricular chamber'
Mild to Moderate Regurgitation of the Atrial Valve
and later; also Mild Regurgitation of the Tricuspid Valve
A diagnosis of COPD was discounted after some months of Furosemide [diuretic]
when following a Spyrometry Test, I was found to be; just under average arc for my age

It seems [in retrospect] that I suffered heart failure years ago [pre divorce]
and simply 'turned-up' the heart rate to deal with it

The cough, <which started in April
was dry [unproductive] was treated as a lung infection
and then, as a viral infection
Only later still, was it implied
that the breathing problems and the tickly cough, were due to my heart problems

Sonogram and ECG tests, tied down, the facts
~re the chamber thickening and valve hiccups and Ramipril was prescribed
with the suggestion that I should also be given a Beta Blocker
This was prescribed as Bisoprolol
The Specialist said, that these would be upitrated following [later] Bloods and Water Sampling
AIS ^^^ 1.25mg /2.5mg and now 3.75mg...
There are higher doses available, but I guess, that as my symptoms are NOW, being hidden
that they won't, be upitrated very much higher

The LOSS OF TASTE episode, lasted some several weeks
and was not the most enjoyable of side effects
Worst was the retching on an empty stomach... [before taking meds]
and also later in the day ~during coughing episodes
However I am grateful that the coughing has all but disappeared
It reoccurs 'sporadically' sometimes disappearing for weeks at a time
to reappear once or twice in a day [or two in a row] and remaining 'unproductive'

I really like that Lemon Tea [Instant]
If I happen to let it go cold, I can still enjoy it to the bottom of the mug
whereas Cold Coffee is too gross :)

We have our car here, but I am entitled, to be ambulanced
This just needs the say-so, of our doctor

As I said, I will maintain MY OWN THREADS, [Hangman Game / Quiz Room ??]
and visit Favourite Threads.... These keep me busy enough
I also leave myself signed-in to GE while I am away from the keyboard at times
So that I need only refresh the connection to see the ADDS here

My wife also lost her sense of taste for about a week and just got most of it back. She said that eating was a chore and everything might as well have been cardboard. I think that her's had something to do with strong medications she was given because her sense of taste came back after the dosage of one medication was cut in half. It's ironic that treatment of many illnesses results in other negative effects.

Hi Tom Bro'

Cardboard WITHOUT TASTE for-sure  yeuk!!!

Another thing to be experienced...
is the med deemed 'effective' _causing side-effects, that require
other med's to counteract those side-effects

Sheesh....
I am, just so happy, that I have 'adjusted-well'
to those meds that I am having to take \o/

I am glad you adjusted well to Dave....the meds are so unpredictable....should we use them or not? We just sort take a stab at it sometimes.

The doctor is supposed to weigh the risk and benefits, but that isn't always enough. My sister had a muscle reaction to cholesterol medicine, so the doctor had to try a different one.
My doctor always says that less is more. Just take what you absolutely need because they all have some bad effects.

We sure do need to exercise a deal of faith, at-times [for-sure]

I still hear those Doctor's words, 'as-spoken' ... " David, you have heart failure "
and my mind then 'flashing back', to Bristol [1997]
and my struggling on 'all-fours' to climb the stairs, to get to the bathroom
and having to sit there, on the landing for maybe ten minutes
~until the lead-jacket feeling, wore off
and I could get into the bathroom
and my ex, 'shouting' up the stairs "You're shamming, you lazy 'barsteward' "

I think, that when we have our backs against the floor...[?]
the only way... is to look up [?]
