We have mice here too....

They avoided the traps that kill them outright
So I bought a couple of humane mouse catchers

I caught eight over several days
and the remainder, God knows how-many more there can be
just leave their droppings around the room perimeter
and, wont even enter those traps that have proved so-successful

So now we are going to 'poison' them... [bait]
When I do this, we must ensure the dogs cannot reach [eat] the bait
Therefore, I will undo the footplate under the kitchen cupboards and seal the bait behind it

It is the nuisance and the health 'factors' that drive me to be rid of them
~who ? wishes to eat mouse dropping and urine :green:

 Yes, have a great weekend everyone

We don't seem to have a mouse problem...at least I am not aware of any...used to have a lot in the hay barn.
They are cute little things, but dirty (I think).

I don't know if you meant this to be funny, but I am chuckling...;)

I have been over eating too...its those wonderful tortilla chips again...love them, but can't eat just one...so it is back to less of everything for a while. I am tired of walking, legs and feet hurt, but I go anyway...Gracie just loves it so much.

Our weather is cooling down, still sunny, but at least cooler.:hug::hug:
I am happy to hear your weather is improving

Today has just been weird; I have been fighting nature since 3am
First I was out there sweeping stink bugs off the windows before they get IN the house ....then I spotted 2 huge wasps IN the house (how they got in is beyond me) :o
Looking around the house I noticed them building a nest outside the enclosed porch where I found them.
Thankfully I killed the 2 easily and sprayed the nest, but now I have 2 big messy windows to clean from bee spray (I will wait until next week when they are gone due to the cooler temps coming) :p

My LOVE for 'nature' has diminished greatly today

The GOOD news is my MSG migraine is finally easing up:clap:

And YES....you CAN chuckle ;)

Penny and I need to get out for a stroll in a bit; Hubby is almost done painting (I don't like leaving him when he is up on a ladder!)

I hope my evening is QUIET ^_^

They are cute and dirty....the messes they have made in our shed :swoon: ....chewing holes in our life jackets, then nesting inside them, and leaving PILES of stinky excrement in the nest
My mother had that mess inside her inset ceiling tiles in her finished basement.
We never knew until we had to fix a leak....it was horrible....and one reason for my panic last night just recalling it
So we stay on TOP of the mouse population when they decide to move in every Fall :D

God bless

I have had days like that...one little thing after another adds up to a big thing in the long run.

I have been reading...fixed some Alaskan Salmon for my lunch, gave Gracie a bit of it with her kibble....she loves salmon.

I just put spareribs into the oven to bake slowly...now for teaching by internet. I am taking a more in depth look at the trinity...one of our most basic Christian doctrines.:hug::hug:

Yeah it happens to all of us...today was my turn :D

Salmon is good :yum: in fact I just had leftovers for lunch!

We got a lovely walk in; one more day of beautiful weather until the rain returns for the weekend.
Next week will feel and look Like FALL.....the foliage will be peaking, and we will have cool temps next week with our first frost

I just got light reading from the library; my brain fog has been terrible lately :o
I hope my diet change and some sleep will clear the cobwebs soon :sorry:

I'm glad it's alright to laugh, because by now, I am chuckling, too. I have issues with insects in my house. One night last week, there was o huge spider on my kitchen floor. I grabbed a magazine and tossed it on it. Then I stomped on the magazine several times. It's pretty much a phobia, I think..
Haven't had mice since moving here in 1995. When we lived in an apartment, my husband had to put traps in the kitchen. We told the manager as well. We didn't have many. I always keep my cat food in a big airtight plastic container.

Today was an even nicer day than yesterday, weather wise. However, tomorrow will be the coolest day of the season thus far. Good because it will keep me away from Stinker. That kitten is so sweet and friendly. Today he jumped on my lap and just sat there, even while I propelled myself around with my legs. My problem with taking him to the vet and bringing him inside is that I do get tired of the messes hat come with pets and they're such a long-term commitment. Plus, once they're past the kitten stage, they usually aren't as affectionate. But, he's pulling on my heart strings. Someone has clearly abandoned him.

LOL It IS funny ...after the fact though.....not so much so at 3:30 AM

I love nature but I do have my limits....and if bugs of any sort find their way INSIDE my home....they are dead meat :p
The ONLY exception is a Lady Bug ;)

Spiders are admired OUTSIDE, but if they come in I get creeped out big time!
I watched the movie 'arachnophobia' years ago by myself and got the whole house moving to see what was up with my whooping, hollaring and climbing up the back of the couch.
I freaked my springer spaniel (an family)out on that one ....and I chuckle thinking of you doing the stomp on your find LOL ^_^

Hmmmm...I think "stinker' is slowly edging his way into your home and your heart ;)

You know, I have that brain fog too...it is horrible to live with. I would have my camera ready if I got the Fall colors that you get...hopefully I will get pics on my trip to Eric's house...I have a trip planned around the 20th of this month.

I got a very sound nap...I never seem to sleep that well at night...haven't for years.

It is always good to chat with you Gail....hugs.

Sounds like Stinker has chosen you....wish there was a way to bring him inside and solve the mess problems...some adult cats are very loving, my son had one...he she even got to play dress up every now & then with our grandson.
There are some nice igloo type shelters to buy for pets if you can afford something like that.

I did not want Gracie, but have found she really helped me cheer up and enjoy life again.

I enjoy our chats too :)

Could I borrow your camera? ;) How I miss my 35MM Minolta SLR :o
I hope you have a nice trip; our anniversary is the 20th.
We had a wonderful honeymoon at the White Mtns (39 years ago); the foliage was awesome!
Since then we have gone back a number of times...

I did not want Gracie, but have found she really helped me cheer up and enjoy life again.
That's how it was with my MIL's dog when we took him in....then we got hooked :D

We have a "rea feel" for Fall weather here, finally; the angle of the sun is different even if we don't get much rain...the light is less harsh. I want to get my camera out again.

The sun is much lower in the sky, and it is dark by 6:30 pm here now.

Enjoy the season!

:amen:

We had a restful and quiet night with no mice scamperings
Then again we heard the hoot owl, so they may have been in hiding....but at least not in our ATTIC! ;)

Today is the last day with a 'summery' feel; tomorrow will bring in wet weather and Fall temps, so hubby is doing some outside chores, and I will get Penny out for a walk before we go to Church and dinner.

Have a wonderful weekend (and Holiday on Monday for the US)

We took a long walk (2 mi); it is beautiful and warm out :)
The leaves that do have color are falling fast here with the wind.
Thankfully there is still more to turn so we will keep some color for a week or so still.
I even love the earth tones of the beech and oak leaves that stay on the trees late in the season :)

*Next week looks like great Fall weather; I may be online a bit less so I can get seasonal chores done before the snow flies :D

I missed the troll also, but it appears that all the posts for the 4th of October are gone. One of my posts requesting prayer for a doctor's appointment for the 5th of October for my wife is gone. I hope that I wasn't considered to be the troll. The doctor appointment went well, but we still don't have a diagnosis. More tests have been ordered, so we're hoping to know more in a couple of weeks. Maybe this is good news or maybe not, but Lupus has been ruled out. Thank you for your continued prayers.

No worries- Staff would have contacted you if there were any issues with your posts. I think the member was mostly doing stuff in other threads that gave staff a heads up- not so much this thread but we still had to clean it up.

They should have edited out your reply to the troll and not removed the rest completely (at least that is what they USED to do).
Be assured you both remain in my prayers
Praise God for Lupus being ruled out Tom
Continued prayers as you and the docs discern her diagnosis and treatment :crossrc:
