Thanks I'll check it out. Still waiting to get into Van to see her but they have visitors from the states staying with them right now and are very hard to catch at home.They have the cat locked in a seperate room. Usually I would have her every Fri. and can't wait to see for myself that she's alright. Still not sure how having Boots here will work.
I've been working on some recipes for a vegan way of eating that is more familiar to most peoples tastes. I love researching and experimenting. Think I've come up with a shepards pie with roast vegies, mushroom gravy and garlic mashed potatoes. Not the first time it's been done but new to me.
The zoo sounds like a great way to spend the day! Have fun!

Had son and girlfriend here for a simple family meal for Tim's birthday. They've taken him to a horror movie that they all wanted to see. How well I remember that day 22 years ago. I was scheduled to be induced on November 1, but he had other plans, so Halloween baby he was!

One never forgets those days...they are still vivid memories for me too.

I used to eat meats but now have nuts, grains and beans as staples. And because I've experimented so much I'm now trying to find things that I like the taste of w/o needing to alter the taste with spices etc. too much... color me bored.
The weather has lightened up a bit and there's still lots of leaves on the trees. I think we may be in for a cold if not snowy winter. Getting mittens and scarves out in preparation. Monsoons and then hybernation time in these here hills

Hi All,

Nearly bedtime here. I'm using an aircast boot now and crutches, so making progress, slowly but surely. An at home day today. Did usual domestic kind of chores which at the moment take longer than normal. Glad this is only temporary. Tomorrow I go for a bone density scan for which I was referred as a result of my fall.

Gillian, I give thanks that you are healing up.

I had a nice, quiet, and restful day today trying to obey the doctor's orders. I give thanks that I'm not having any pain and that includes the incision site. I took the bandages off today, and the site looks very good. It's amazing that it's only a little bit bigger than a BB, and all I have to do is clean it and use a regular band-aid every day until it's completely healed. I plan to get extra rest beyond what the doctor ordered just to be on the safe side.

I am so ready for the time to change...we get up early, sit in the dark for almost 4 hours waiting for daylight...wish...the powers that be would leave the time ALONE!!!!!!

I am enjoying the slow start this morning. Looking towards a pleasant week. I think I am going to not do some things this week like go to a meeting I am supposed to go to, and not exercise like I normally do. I have one more week with this cast and am feeling like I will just take it easy and save my energy. That's how I am feeling right now...might change my mind, can't ever tell. I figure I have until Tuesday to decide whether or not to exercise. I say this be/c I usually exercise three times a week, which, I either do, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, or Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

I am meeting with a Depression Group tonight. Looking forward to this since I haven't been able to get in to see my doctor for over a month now.

I think rest time is healing time...especially since you have been busy exercising...that takes a lot of energy.

I am going to rest more today too... I feel relaxed after several busy days and evenings.
