We just got in from a nice walk, I cleared the walks and driveway of debris, and we are having lunch.
It is so warm and humid here...very weird seeing that a year ago tomorrow, we had 2 FEET of SNOW!
We saw that a couple neighbors had big trees down; one across the penninsula from us had it land on his roof...not sure if it caused damage.
Aside from that, the mile we walked was messy but there was just a 2 hour school start delay, and the mail came through just fine.
We won't be going out anyway until tomorrow or Thursday to get a flu vax and food shopping.

Gail, I'm so glad for you and also other internet friends near Boston. We haven't lost power either, thank God, but it is windy, cold and spitting rain. Beggers night was moved to Nov. 3. Some folks in our area did lose power.

This is good news you two....in other areas, the news is pretty bad.

It is horrific and very sad to see the devastation in the states south of us along the Eastern Seaboard ~ Lord, have mercy!

The news here about Sandy has been in-depth - NZ has a tv reporter over in NY - and it's shocking to see what the storm has done in NY and NJ in particular. I'm so sorry that folk have succumbed during this storm, but again, it's good to see you ones posting, safe and well.

I was shocked also to see all the devastation along the eastern seaboard. Many prayers for those who are still suffering in any way. It's been extremely windy on the northwestcoast also with the Monsoons still pelting down.
I'd had plans to get a new kitten from someone but since then my granddaughter got very badly beaten up by my daughter's other baby, her cat, so it looks like I'll be getting him instead. The baby is somewhat worse for wear but no permanant scars. She just learnt to climb up and she startled the cat.
I've been bible trivia-ing all morning so needs to be out and about for awhile...have a good day!

Had son and girlfriend here for a simple family meal for Tim's birthday. They've taken him to a horror movie that they all wanted to see. How well I remember that day 22 years ago. I was scheduled to be induced on November 1, but he had other plans, so Halloween baby he was!

Yes, glad baby is okay. Cats are my favorite pet, but I just don't want the mess of pets anymore.

Thank you. She is alright but her mom was just very concerned that he may do it again. So am I so I'd rather have him here than there.

He's really kinda the cat from you know where but I love him lots. I'm just glad the baby is ok too. Thank God, one of the scratches came very close to her eye. I actually haven't seen her since then and my daughter said I would freak if I did but she assures me that she will be fine

I have been very tired this week...finally slept well last night and feel good for me today...took Gracie for a walk...plan to read today.
I have a trip planned for tomorrow...a friend and I will go to the zoo. It will be an all day event for me, with cool weather...yeah!

I took this shot at the Santa Barbara zoo a couple years ago...we will be at the LA zoo tomorrow.

Thanks I'll check it out. Still waiting to get into Van to see her but they have visitors from the states staying with them right now and are very hard to catch at home.They have the cat locked in a seperate room. Usually I would have her every Fri. and can't wait to see for myself that she's alright. Still not sure how having Boots here will work.
I've been working on some recipes for a vegan way of eating that is more familiar to most peoples tastes. I love researching and experimenting. Think I've come up with a shepards pie with roast vegies, mushroom gravy and garlic mashed potatoes. Not the first time it's been done but new to me.
The zoo sounds like a great way to spend the day! Have fun!

I slept only from 12-4am and now I am beat because we were out the door early, and I have been running since.
When I got home I had groceries to put away, made lunch, did a few chores, and took Penny for a walk
I am done for the day now
