I hope that new washing machine makes that chore easier and more pleasant.

I'm off to get a haircut. Did you hear about the guy with seriously thinning hair who went to the barber? He asked the barber if there was a discount because of cutting less hair. Answer: no, because of the finder's fee. :D

I hope that everyone has a great day.

It should be easier than it was Sunday, with a FULL load of heavy WET towels stuck in the old machine (it wouldn't drain/spin)!
We had to wring them all out, then hand rinse and wring out each one by HAND (I even broke blood vessel on my arthritic thumb doing it) :o
Considering it was @ 30 years old, I guess it is time for a new one, though we must dig into savings as we have had no income the past couple weeks (but PTL for our savings!)
So yeah...it will be more pleasant for sure! :D
I prayed for my grandmother the whole time, who I recall had a wringer machine and no drier. God rest her soul

ROFLOL at the joke ^_^

We are off for a walk shortly.
They are expecting heavy storms with hail and winds later today.
I pray that doesn't delay my delivery to another day (we don't have local laundromats out here in the woods :p )

Have a great day

Thanks :) You appreciate it after you have been without, regardless of age!
I was happy they made it, because we had severe storms coming through.
If they had to reschedule, it wouldn't be delivered for another week.... meaning I would have up to a 1 hour round trip
to a laundromat, and then would have to sit there a couple hours until it was done.
We were already without it for a week, so yeah.... I was excited to say the least :D
I thank God for this convenience and blessing, and pray for those who do not have appliances at home

My Mother would boil whites in a gas fired tub, rinse by hand
wring in a hand-powered roller wringer and hang out to dry, throughout my childhood
As an adult, I never saw a washing machine in her house

Mary and I have recently purchased a new one...
The old one, had a leak in hose underneath [again]
so we passed it on to one of her sons, who was able to replace the hose
and continue using the machine [at his home]

Mary had used the machine for over 20 years, so we thought it should be retired :D

My grandmother did the same; God bless them

If ours could have been repaired we would have done that instead of having to dig into savings with hubby not working, but it has also seen 20+ years and they no longer make the parts.
This new one may well outlive US :p

my washer is almost 30 years old.... it has signs of wear... I was thinking of buying myself one of those do it yourself washers and ringers for when the time comes. :)
