And, people who do not know Jesus Christ, should realize the times we live in are the last days, and great calamities of all kind shall come, and even are now here, with all the floods, storms, fires, earthquakes, volcanoes, and wars - and the only hope is in Christ, for eternal life, so that no matter what comes our way: plague, famine, war...we are safe if we trust in the cross of Christ where He shed His blood for our sins.
I bolded the relevant from in the quote, didn't want to chop it all up, but to this I just wanted to say:

Welcome to the last 2000 or so years.

Always dumber.

I feel smarter already from knowing this.

I've heard of people getting smarter after hit by lightning or surviving a near-death-experience (NDE). Definitely brain damaged but somehow became smarter.

If there's one thing we've learned over the past 4 years, it's that messing around with random viruses in labs is a totally smart idea and literally nothing can go wrong.

At least we gain knowledge on what virus can be deadly or not.

We should open up more labs and do more virus research to gain more knowledge.

Welcome to the last 2000 or so years.

Yes, since the crucifixion & resurrection of Christ we have entered what can loosely be called "The last days" or "latter days."
However, the signs are happening with more and more frequency, and there is a convergence, especially this past generation of 100 years which would be roughly end of WW2 till present.
(Generation according to Genesis 15:13 & 16)
And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;....
But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again.)

Biggest sign is Israel returning to their land and becoming a nation May 14, 1948 - prophesied in numerous scriptures. Truly, the end could not come until after that happened.
Another sign is we now have the technology to implement everything in Revelation 13 due to the internet, A.I., and digital currency. That's only really been the last 20 years or so, maybe 25.

As for war, we've only had the capacity to destroy the whole world or conduct worldwide wars since around WW1 or a little over 100 years.

Since this thread is about Covid, when Covid struck in 2019 and really got going in 2020 it's the first time we had worldwide lockdowns and such societal upheavals due to a plague, even if the plague itself did not kill as many as certain former plagues, such as the black death/bubonic plague that killed around 25 million in a world with a pop. of only around 440 million, whereas Covid as of today has killed 6,971,701 million in a world of approx. 8 billion population.

The day of the Lord shall come as a thief in the night..... be ready!

the accidental lab release is now the leading theory for Covid-19.
It always was for people who were actually paying attention. "No, not the virus lab! It could have only come from Chinese Kroger.

Right.

i did get accused of being racist. (I'm half Asian.) And hating Chinese people. Nemmind that I speak Chinese (Cantonese dialect), my first serious girlfriends were Chinese, Chinese friends dragged me kicking and scream into passing Calculus and ultimately becoming an engineer, ad infinitum. But then I was also accused of being a paranoid toady for the government line because I wore a mask (and had several cool ones) so I could work as usual and go about my business with as little hindrance as possible, even regularly flying across the country (IN HALF EMPTY AIRPLANES!) when I felt like it, while my oh so heroic friends Resisted by holeing up in their houses and never going anywhere.

Right.

I didn't eat any bats, though. Somehow Flying Rat stir fry never appealed to me.

Leading theory among people who will
believe anything if its anti China.
Occam's Razor. Are mutant viruses more likely to have originated in:

A street market
or
The virus research lab down the road from the street market?

Parsimonious answers only.

Narrow it down to Wuhan and give me some other vaguely credible potential sources. Madman Fong's Clean Used Cars? #1 Style Hair Salon? Wuhan One Hour Dry Cleaners?

Occams razor would actually say it developed in a wild animal that was caught and butchered at thr wet market.

That is definitely thr easiest explanation.

Which is to say you have no clue what "Occam's Razor" means; which is not at all uncommon.
That is definitely thr easiest explanation.
Not sure what "easiest " means here. We can be relatively certain that at the Wuhan Virus Works they not only had viruses, since that's what they do, but we know that they had been working with Corona viruses., since Uncle Sam had been paying them to do so. On the other hand, there's no particular reason to believe that there were any Corona virus infected critters in the market at all, much less any that were infected with the Covid 19 variant., or any other that could infect humans. So where does the "easy" thing come from?

Why is there no particular reason? Would this this the first instance in recorded history of an illness moving from animals to humans through natural evolutionary mechanisms?

The easiest explanation is that it was developed in the actual Wuhan lab due to the gain of dunction research that was going on there. It started in Wuhan where a corona virus lab was located.

No its not settled, but it makes the most sense. But you are entitled to believe what you wish. No one has the definitive answer. At least that we know of.

Right. So if there is a radiation leak, the "easiest" place to find it would be a nearby gas station, and not the nuclear plant next door.

Bad analogy. In this case, the wilderness would be quite the nuclear reactor for new viruses/bacteria/etc to appear from.

Poor analogy. Do you understand why?
