Like others have said, I also can't believe that a God who is love would create these children and allow them to die, knowing that they will then go to hell because, through no fault of their own, they haven't lived long enough to hear the Gospel, or were born without the ability to understand it.

I'm looking forward to seeing my little brother again one day.

The story of the first child of King David and Bathsheba indicates that children do indeed go to heaven. King David acknowledges that now that the child is dead, he knows that he will see the infant again after his own death. I call that proof!

2Samuel 12:22 He answered, "While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept. I thought, `Who knows? The LORD may be gracious to me and let the child live.' [23] But now that he is dead, why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me."

I had forgotten about this. Thanks.

Also, to others who have mentioned it. Baptism is not at issue here. Unless you believe baptismal regeneration which is a different discussion...

This doesn't count though, since the people of David's time thought that all people and all souls went to Sheol together. What David thought doesn't necessarily reflect the truth, though it might be a good start.
