I used to play alot, I was intrigued by Bobby Fischer playing Boris Spassky in the early 70's. I taught my son to play and let him win when he was young.. no more, he's far more accomplished than me now.

I've been having fun there. Membership is free. Of course if you want more features you can buy a better membership.

You can play the following styles of chess live against other people from around the world.

Bullet: Under 3 minutes a game. Most games are 1 minute.
Blitz: Over three minutes and under 15 minutes a game. I usually play 10 minute games.
Standard: 15 minutes up through 60 minutes a game.

Correspondance: Usually three days per move per player.

You get a rating for each type of chess you play and the site saves all of your games so you can go back and watch them over again to learn. There is also computers to play against with analysis, learning materials, and forums and chat rooms. There are over 3 million members from around the world and some of them are masters and even famous grandmasters.

I used to play chess a lot, but haven't much lately. I got beat pretty badly the last time I tried to play on an easy setting against a computer.

it's a good site for chess. I used to play there a ton a few years back. haven't played in about a year though. got as high as 1461 with a dismal 78-119 record haha was fun though. I may have to start playing some more again. Always enjoyed chess.

Anyone still playing on chess.com? I'm on there quite a bit, but only in the middle of the night (e.g., between 3:00am and 5:00am US Eastern time). I'd be glad to play someone if they're up at that time.

I started a chess club at work a few months back and it has been well received. We have people from all economic backgrounds, ages, etc show up and enjoy the kingly game.
