Beginning to *really* hate this forum and some of the people in it Very wrong of me. But please will you list its plus points?

Yeah...sometimes it can get you down. I been reading a lot more than posting and I am learning to just 'get out' of a thread when I see something that knots me up inside. As some of the discussions do. In fact, I'm not even going to step into the debate subforum.

How come the other forum never gets ugly? It's constantly peaceful and edifying there. What makes it so different to this?

I dunno, but it sure is a safe haven when you need it...and like GT, when something strikes me wrong, I stay away from it. Sometimes it's just not worth getting twisted up over.

Yeah, you 3 are pretty much my sole reason for staying. Porterross, ContentinHim and CP are especially lovely, too, also.

I don't have anyone on ignore. I came pretty close when CC started up...well...you know, but I never actually did it. I can see how it could be useful, though. Especially if you want to participate in certain areas, but don't want to have to read certain posts.

Well, that's sort of the thing... if we put people on ignore, have we failed to respond in the way Jesus has commanded us to?

I have once used my ignore in the past. As much as Jesus wants us to respond, He wouldn't want us to continue being abused.

Even Jesus will ignore some that will call "Lord, Lord" and Jesus will say "I don't know you".

I think that yes, I would...if someone was harrassing me or I wanted to participate somewhere I knew a certain poster was going to be but didn't want to have to deal with their posts. I understand how the meanness can get to you. That is why I stay out of certain areas. Maybe it's sticking my head in the sand, but so be it. And always remember...look to Christ, not to other Christians. If you focus on Him I believe that He will give you what you need to deal with the meanness. A lot of the time Christianity is not the problem...Christians are. Sad as it is.

Well, that's sort of the thing... if we put people on ignore, have we failed to respond in the way Jesus has commanded us to?

Yes and no. We are commanded to love, right? But it is so hard to love those who appear unlovable, which is why we need to rely on Him to love through us. Yet some people make themselves appear that way by being contentious and judgemental and mean. There are many verses that talk about having nothing to do with those who cause trouble. Maybe that is where the ignore button comes into play?

All things consider I'm doing alright all things consider still unempolyed, still alone and still depressed nothing has changed bt things can always get worse.

Not really there was this job new in the paper on friday that they wanted to have payroll clerk starting this thursday so I spent the whole day pretty much in the house waiting to see if they were going to call me for an inteview.

Normaly I wouldn't worry about it the only reason I am now is because they're trying to squeeze this process into a couple of days.
