It is not self-righteousness. Before I was filled with the Spirit I was a mess. I couldn't stop sinning. I KNOW where my strength comes from. Immediately when I received the Spirit is had no desire to sin, where just the day before I couldn't stop.
Do you realize how many accusations you are throwing my way? Is that not scoffing? You are becoming an accuser of the brethren without cause. I just want to help you have what I have been given. It is a free gift.
That's amazing. It seems at least 90% of the time I ask that of the 'sinless', they just can't seem to find it. It's an astonishing trend.
Verses 11 through 13, specifically. Both Peter and Barnabus.
Peter was a hypocrite and lead others astray as well, meaning he also caused others to sin. And if Paul also sinned by recounting the story the way he did, is that a claim that the Spirit who inspires scripture caused Paul to sin, or is it that it isn't actually inspired scripture?
Stop being so condescending.
I made a statement about those specific verses but you make it a personal thing, where does it say Peter SINNED?
Accusations? I really dislike being lied to and I especially don't respond well to it when people presume to do it in the Lord's name.
Paul, himself, said that some things he was writing was not from God, and on the other hand, told when some things were. Paul against Peter was a perfect example of a trespass. Did Peter hold it against Paul? No, he wrote:
2 Peter 3:15
and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you,
What lie did I tell you? None. You just don't have faith that it is even possible for all your prayers to be answered, let alone be able to hear God's voice. Otherwise, you wouldn't have said the unscriptural statement that God sometimes answers no.
Yea, that's the other common response, that what Paul wrote wasn't scripture.
Your ilk is unbelievable. the twists necessary to maintain your position is dangerous.
Now who is falsely accusing?
Do you really believe committing a trespass against someone and holding a grudge is a command for us from God. Is that behavior godly and holy?
I'm not going to be drawn into a spitting match with you. Obviously, this is becoming the devil's territory and I'm resisting it in Jesus' name. I hope you start believing instead of thinking everything a Christian says to you is a lie.
Its all self promotion, however skilfully it is wordedWow. Pride much. You are in no position to ever question my faith. You don't know anything about it.
Well, it was Peter who sinned, and no, I don't think his fear, hypocrisy, and causing others to sin with him was godly. And I didn't see any grudge in that passage, only a recounting of the incident.
Its all self promotion, however skilfully it is worded
''You need to attain to where I am at''
The truth about Peter. Look at is his letters; they are to the Jews. I hope you accept this teaching. If not, maybe someone else will be edified.
1 Peter 1:1
To the pilgrims of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia
When visiting with Paul and the Gentiles, he had no problem eating what the Gentiles ate. Probably pork. Barnabas too. But when the Jewish converts came by to see Paul and Barnabas, they would have been offended, so stepped away. They were between a rock and a hard place, and even Paul had done the same thing.
1 Corinthians 9:
19 For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; 20 and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; 21 to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law; 22 to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 23 Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.
I do realize that passage leaves your position in a bit of a quandary, but at the end of the day, either Peter sinned, or Paul did. But I do expect attempts to explain it away. It would be such a shame to let the 'sinless perfection' doctrine die simply due to it not standing up to all of scripture.
Look, I know you two are lying to me, even though I also think both of you believe the lies you are saying. Quit lying and I'll quit responding to the lies. Deal?
As for where? I've already told you the specific verses.
Hmmmm. Like telling the truth when stating all of Christ's commands in the Gospels are perfectly obeyed without slip or deviation. Accusing falsely is one of the big ten and lawlessness. So is lying. So we have no choice but to tell the truth if we want our prayers to be answered and to continue abiding in Him, and HE IN US.
