I agree. Paul wasn't talking about same sex attraction he was outwardly referencing a type of homosexual prostitution in order to form a spiritual allegory. Even if you reject the allegorical part it still says nothing about a committed monogamous same sex marriage / relation. It's only the Old Testament that attacks same sex sex in general. Those laws and ordinances were abolished in the flesh of Christ.

The people who say that becoming Christians makes you cease being gay.

Not quite what they say.

They are in effect saying that all the gay people who consider themselves Christians are just deluding themselves.

I would say the Bible shows that ot be the case.

As long as they gay they will not be saved. That type thinking.

There is no concept of 'being gay' in the Bible, nor straight for that matter.
I think modern cultural thinking which is at odds with God's creation purposes is leading people away from God's truth, His love and purposes, into an identity of sexual behaviour.

I can respect the fact that this is your view. It's certainly your right to feel that way if you so desire. The fact is people say that about every Christian belief they disagree with though. A more conservative Protestant might say the same thing about Roman Catholic belief regarding the Virgin Mary. A Catholic traditionalist might say the same about Protestant beliefs regarding salvation. And so on.... It's pretty much a standard line that can be attached to any attack on another persons views. Just insert an un backed assertion that something is vain an twisted.

This is what happens when people choose not to accept the written word of God as being "from God" and instead look at it as being about God. They start bringing other writings and teachings into the mix.

The fact that the law has been abolished doesn't imply that everything the law forbade was good.
