yes, you can LOSE your salvation. It is DIFICULT, but its possible. ive studied this topic extensively and meticulously to look for the truth. God passionately brings one back from a destructive lifestyle but if one continually chooses sin over Him, then they are hell bound. Many people and pastors will not admit to this, becuase they are scared. peace to you

Well, the same truth is expressed in different words elsewhere in the Bible. Luke 10:29-37 is the Parable of the Good Samaritan. Basically helping the beat up looking poor guy left for dead is the equivalent of loving your neighbor. Right before the Parable, Jesus agreed with the lawyer on the truth that loving God (including some details), and loving your neighbor is a part of inheriting eternal life (See: Luke 10:25-28). In fact, in the story of Lazarus and the Rich-man, we learn that the beggar at the Rich-man's gates (Lazarus) went to Abraham's Bosom, and the Rich-man who refused to help Lazarus went to torments. I mean, there are so many red flags telling you the same thing, it would make you think you were in a Russian airport.

No, that would be incorrect.
Simply amazing. You are actually trying to convince everyone that Luke 10, John 10, and Matthew 25 are talking about the same incident and the same people. They aren't. Nor did I say they were.

You are the one who is conflating every passage that speaks of sheep or even people doing good in general. No goats and their separation from sheep are mentioned in John 10 and no sheep or goats are mentioned in any way in Luke 10.
there is no indication in the text that Matthew 25:31-46 is talking about nations. That is merely fiction. In fact, it is why you did not quote a verse to support this view.
What an amazing statement. Have you even read Matthew 25?

By the way - I did make sure that there was a link to Matthew 25 in your quote, which I was responding to, so people could read it for themselves. Here is is again. Matthew 25:31-46

I know from experience that people do things like you are doing because they realize that most people reading along will not read the individual scriptures or be troubled to read back and see what was or was not said.

I had quite a long and involved post addressing your post ready for you a moment ago. But then I decided that it would only be casting pearls before swine - as the Lord says.

I'm pretty sure that you will now claim that I am avoiding rebutting your post because I cannot. So be it.

The Lord knows duplicity when He sees it and your post clearly displays it for anyone who will take the time to look back at all that was said and read the various scriptures.

I won't reply to you again. But I do intend to monitor this thread for a few days to see if someone reading along has taken the trouble to look back, read the pertinent scriptures and take you to task.

It will be very informative to me to see if my inclination to not defend my position would have been for naught or if there were some reading along who really cared about the truth and would pursue it.

Either way your theology of works salvation can easily be seen in this exchange for what it is by anyone caring enough to look through it. Your false gospel is obviously contrived by taking quotes out of context, conflating scriptures that are not related one to the other, and simply ignoring what you don't want to acknowledge.

Why do you think your view has issues? How do you think your view here related to JAMES 1:12?

Hi Maria nice to see you and thanks for sharing your thoughts. How does REPENTANCE cause us to fall away from salvation when REPENTANCE, CONFESSION and FAITH is the very condition of salvation *ACTS 2:38; ACTS 3:19; ACTS 8:22; ACTS 17:30; PROVERBS 28:13?
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Maria,

God bless

Hi brother mnphysicist, interesting post brother on examples of people that were once lead of God and had fallen away. I agree that it is only God that knows the heart to know if someone is lost or not. Your first example remind me of HEBREWS 6:4-8. Your second example I think is where God's Grace fits in although as you rightly pointed out no one knows for sure come judgment day. Only God knows the heart. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting statement. For me I would say God's Word does not teach OSAS. If it did we could not fall away from the faith or need to endure temptation to end and there would be no need of temptation as we cannot be lost. In fact there is nothing stopping one that believes this way to go out and live like the devil. I am paraphrasing the scriptures above. I will post them in detail a little latter. Fear is a good thing brother. It is the beginning of wisdom that leads us to the goodness of God. There is only one true believe and that is God's WORD *ROMANS 3:4. Anything else is our own opinion and does not really matter. Thanks for sharing

God bless.

Yes, if they never actually knew God, but based their faith solely on what they had been taught about Him by others. Once you actually know someone and develop a relationship with them, you obviously cannot stop "believing in" that person.

What about if they knew God *HEBREWS 6:4-8; HEBREWS 10:26-27?

Are you among those who deny we have been saved by grace through faith and that the Lord Himself is the author and finisher of our faith? This forum is full of them - in spite of what God clearly says about it.

Why would you think I deny we are saved by grace through faith? I have only always ever posted on it.

True but if you have a change of heart and are born again to love. How does this change your thinking? *JOHN 14:15.

Yes. We've seen it happen millions of times. Some people lose their faith because of events in their lives, some lost their faith due to the toxic christian environment they've lived in for so long that they are just fed up with it.

Hello brother Cis.jd nice to see you. Good post. Anyother brother at the top of the same page where you posted also posted some good examples. I believe this is what the scriptures teach as shown in the OP. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

God bless.

Can an unbeliever fall away from Satan if he does "too much" good works, but without accepting Jesus as his substitute?
If not, why do we think a believer can fall away from Jesus if he does "too much" bad works?
Romans 5:12-19 spell it out clearly.

Jesus says by their fruits you shall know them. 1 JOHN 2:3-4 and 1 JOHN 3:3-10 describes very clearly who God's children are and the children of the Devil. The children of the Devil do not enter the kingdom of heaven if they continue in known unrepentant sin because by doing so they reject the gift of God's dear son *ROMANS 6:23. The good news of the Gospel of is that JESUS came to save us from our sins not to continue living in sin *JOHN 8:31-36.

God bless.

Jesus seems pretty clear that His sheep will hear and follow. So if one is His sheep, they are always His sheep.

Indeed God's Sheep do indeed follow Him except those that are lost. God's Sheep are all those who HEAR and BELIEVE and FOLLOW GOd's WORD ("present tense"). Those who are not God's SHEEP do not hear, FOLLOW and BELIEVE GOd's WORD. There is nothing in God's WORD to say that one always HEARS, BELIEVES and FOLLOWS God's WORD.

Just to put to rest any straw men and keep you from tilting at windmills - No one says otherwise.
Why do you think it is a strawman argument? If your once saved always saved then why not go out and live like the devil? As according to that view you cannot be lost right? But I am glad you believe otherwise brother. 1 JOHN 2:1-4; 1 JOHN 3:3-10 is the test however.
Your response...
Not really brother. All that has been posted in JOHN 8:31-36, MATTHEW 24:12-14 and the scriptures of the OLD and NEW COVENANT in the OP is God's WORD. God's WORD is not my words. It is God's WORD not mine that says we can fall away from BELIEVEING and FOLLOWING God's WORD not me (see OP). Why do you feel that the scriptures provided are bad logic? Do you not believe them? Only God's WORD is true and we should believe and follow them. Our opinions do not really matter *ROMANS 3:4.
Your comment...
It's interesting how you are able to see what you want to see in that passage and not what you don't want to see (what the Holy Spirit through Peter actually said).
God's WORD has only been posted. That is all I want to see. You post your own words. Thesw are not God's WORD. Only God's WORD is true and we should believe and follow them *ROMANS 3:4
As posted through the scriptures provided in 2 PETER 2:1-22. These scriptures are WARNINGS to BELIEVERS and show that we can FALL AWAY from the truth of God's WORD and no longer BELIEVE and FOLLOW it. These are God's WORDS brother not mine. What is it that you do not believe and why? The very scriptures you are quoting from are a WARNING from PETER to the BELIEVERS on FALLING AWAY from the truth of God's WORD...

2 PETER 2:20-22
[20], FOR IF THEY HAVE ESCAPED THE POLLUTIONS OF THE WORLD THROUGH THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST, THEY ARE AGAIN ENTANGLED THEREIN AND OVERCOME, THE LATTER END IS WORSE THEN THE BEGGINING.
[21], FOR IT HAD BEEN BETTER FOR THEN NOT TO HAVE KNOWN THE WAY OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, THAN, AFTER THEY HAVE KNOWN IT, TO TURN FROM THE HOLY COMMANDMENT DELIEVERED UNTO THEM.
[22], But it is happened to them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Not sure why you do not believe this. It is God's WORD not mine. Thanks for sharing your views though.

God bless.

I’m going to make a statement the Bible reveals...

The Devil is the most self righteous being alive. Satan is noted as the father of the Pharisees.

He stood at the right hand of God as the accuser (this is what devil means). Zechariah 3 will reveal this.

Living a life of the devil is not what the world teaches.

I mean this and it is in scripture so clearly it is painful.
