We can choose Him, but He must choose us first. It is the matter that humans cannot choose God that concerns me -- because this means we can never voluntarily act which means we can never be Christlike and thus salvation is lost to all.
We can choose Him, but He must choose us first.
We love Him because He first loved us.
How does one tell whether He chose a person rather than the person "thinks" they are just chosen? We can choose Him, but He must choose us first.

Faith without works is dead. The Elect person will love and trust God and want to do works of love and charity to minister to the needs of people and to build up the kingdom of God.
If one says they believe but does nothing to finish the race, that is evidence that they are not saved.
Please, the question on Genesis has not yet been answered:
Genesis says man was created "in the image toward the likeness". What is the teaching of Calvinism on what "toward the likeness" ?
How is the image so distorted that humans lose the ability to choose ?
How is Adam's sin "imputed" to us ?
Adam chose to sin. The wages of sin is death. All children of Adam have a fallen nature hat wills sin. We sin because we are sinners. Adam's sin is imputed to us because he is our representative and federal head.

In Calvinism, is there an explanation for "good days/bad days" spiritually, or do the elect function at a sort of "consistently high" level ?
Yes, but then Adam was the origin of all peoples; Abraham the father of some. Even the NT identifies this. So is Abraham not a federal head ?
No. Adam was Abraham's Federal head. Abraham is the father of the Jews.
Anyway, Rom. 5:12 says that sin is the result of death in Greek (as Tzaousios mentioned), so I think there is a translation issue.
What is the Greek term for "Federal Head" ?
I think this part of my post got missed ...
Beat's me. I'm an Okie
Not all descendants of Abraham/Jacob/Israel were "Jews"

Matthew 3:9 "And no ye should be thinking to say in yourselves 'a father we are having, the Abraham'. For I am saying unto ye, that is able the God out of the stones, these, to raise-up children to the Abraham.
Luke 16:24 And he sounding said "Father Abraham! be thou merciful to-me! and send Lazarus! that he should be dipping the tip of the finger of him of water and should be cooling down the tongue of me that I am being pained in the Flame this."
Thats ok
I'm just wanting to understand it better ...
The only "Jew" born to Jacob/Israel was Judah I believe and thus the word "jews" is from is what I meant. SorryRight. He is the great Patriarch, but they come from the Issac side not the Ishmail side.
Still he is their patriarch.
Previously, interaction with God was the source of life to Adam; but, from the moment he fell it was only possible that he should recover life by the death of Christ. http://christianforums.com/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=50817392#_ftnref1How is the image so distorted that humans lose the ability to choose ?
