Clothed, since you can't, or won't answer the questions I posed, maybe another Calvinist will help you.
Which questions can't I answer? I already told you why I wouldn't look at your scenario, but you don't want to remedy the situation by admitting you falsely used my satire even after I told you it was satire. I don't need another Calvinist.

Is that really what I'm doing, or is that how you feel?

And I thought you said you wanted discussion on this forum. You have avoided it when asked questions to continue the discussion.

And now you are on a completely different tangent. I you think it is your predestined agenda to continue to focus on me, then by all means go for it.

If you look back, you will see one of the modes of operation of Calvinists, is to play the victim. You are right on schedule.

I'm only responding to what you say. You accused me of demeaning you and so I asked if that was really the case or if it was just how you felt.

I don't understand, Clothed, you say you've never read Calvin, yet you know the Bible is Calvinistic. That sure sounds like a contradiction to me. Also, many theologians do not agree what the Bible is in fact all that Calvinistic. I have found quite a number of passages that contradict his concept of predestination, election, etc.
Next, you want to attack liberals. OK, fine. But first get it straight what liberals believe and why. I, for one, do not consider the Bible God's Word, as that latter term is used only and exclusively for Christ. Putting Christ's title on a book is, to be, a blasphemous form of bibliolatry. Furthermore, I view God as essentially loving; and when you love someone, you do not seek to coerce them with threats of horrible punishments. Christ makes it plain that we should be loving and forgiving. So, no, I don't believe in anything like a Hell. What purpose would that serve? How would that achieve justice? Would it bring back all y the lost loved ones? We have had enough misery and hell in this life, we sure don't need it in the next. I don't think that God is in the rewards-punishment business to start with. I think God seeks to place us where we can create the most beauty. God wants so-and-so sitting first horn, because so-and-so can really play, and not because this is some sort of a reward for that individual. Universal salvation is not an easy way out, not cheap grace. Nothing is more humbling, nothing will put you on your knees faster, than being submitted to real beauty. Ask me how I know. Whenever I thought I was hot on horn, listening to a few major records soon put me in my place, caused me real pain, so that I was just abut ready to stick my horn under the bed and never tough it again. So suppose some hotshot like Capone comes face to face with God. Believe me, he will go to humbled knee. He will feel real pain, really terrible about himself and the petty beauty he created. What are you gong to do when you get up to heaven and God asks you if you have any interesting snapshots to show about your life?

Your mode of operation must be to avoid admitting you were wrong and then to criticize those who want an apology when they ask for it.

An apology? Really? Are you hurt that much? Did it break your heart? Come on Clothed, this is a discussion forum. If you feel hurt every time someone disagrees with you, you might as well get off here.

Honestly, if I mishandled someone's words on accident then I would apologize after my realization. Are you not concerned with handling things truthfully?

That's all fine and dandy, but can you support your views with scripture? That's what I believe.

First, you weren't truthful when you said the thing you did. Later, when called out on it, you then say it was satire. If no one knew it was satire, how can they be wrong?

I'm sorry my attempt at satire didn't connect with you, but when I tell you that it is satire you cannot not just treat it as if it wasn't. If I really believed those things then I wouldn't try to hide it by saying it was satire, and you would see me teaching it in my other posts.

I pointed out to you, Clothed, that Christ preached God is love and that this meat we should forgive and love our enemies. If you want me to go more into the Structure of biblical texts, explain why I don't think God dictated it all, one reason are the numerous contradictions, the other reason is finding laws that clearly exploit others, such as the sanctification of slavery, and yet another are the largely OT accounts of God as cruel and unloving.

Therein lies the problem. You didn't say it was satire until later. You had us to believe you were telling the truth, when in reality, it was a lie.

If you want to use satire and play games with us, I suggest you go to pogo.com.

Look, I've debated with professing Christians who reject the authority of scripture on this site before--it get's nowhere. You don't believe the Bible because you believe what the world says about it: I see no contradictions in the Bible and I hold it over what the world says. We cannot agree. You would just keep saying how cruel and evil God was and I would just keep saying how He was just in His actions. You would just keep saying how evolution is a scientific fact and I would just keep saying how it is a Godless myth. It wouldn't get anywhere.

Look, I'll admit my wrongs... I'm sorry I used satire and didn't explain that it was satire until after you thought I actually believed it. I should have known my previous posts would not be enough to indicate it. I should have wrote in bold letters that it was satire. Sorry.

I don't reject the 66 book bible. I reject the extra books in the Catholics 73 books and the Orthodox 76 books. Those extra books are not inspired by God and there's proof. I can prove the 66 books are inspired by God, even scientifically.
