You are correct.

The bottom line here is that Mr. Stone is just as much a charlatan as is Peter Popoff who is now selling "Holy Water".

The Bible says that we are healed by His stripes which is contextually all about spiritual SIN not physical ailments.

Christ in Isiah 53:5...…….
“was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed”

Peter quotes Isaiah in 1 Peter 2:24 builds on this understanding...……..
“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed”.

Those Scriptures do NOT say we are healed PHYSICALLY.

However, this is exactly what is seen all through Christianity. Someone is told a LIE, a false teaching, and they want to believe it so no matter what the truth is, or what the Bible actually says, they are going to stick with what they like.

2 Timothy 4:1-4

Please tell me what your point is.
My point was not aimed at you,but more in support of what you were saying. We were told there would be apostasy, and that the false Christians would prefer to be told what they wanted to hear, rather than God's word in it's truth.

I thought that was what you were saying because it fit the Scriptures you posted.

Again.....what does that mean????

Can you think and post comments that are clearer and easy to understand.
hahahaha (just having a 'good day'), and thought ----

'clearer and easy to understand' compare to Jesus parables....
Matthew 13:13 This is why I speak to them in parables ...
Matthew 13:13 This is why I speak to them in parables: 'Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.'
Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing, they do not hear, neither do they understand. Aramaic Bible in Plain English And from him who has it not, will be taken even that which he has, therefore I am speaking to them in parables because they who see do not see, and those who hear neither hear nor understand.
=====================================

Note that Jesus disciples did not understand either - He took them aside and explained the meaning to them personally,
OR
the Heavenly Father granted them understanding from heaven (as Jesus Says that is how Simon barjona knew Jesus is the Messiah, Son of the Living Elohim) .....

Hi,

Pastor Chris Rosebrough is a Lutheran pastor who hosts Fighting for the Faith, Pirate Christian radio.

This is how he starts his program each time:

"Fighting for the Faith is the program that has been dishing up your daily dose of Biblical discernment since 2008. The goal has always been to help you think biblically, help you think critically, and help you to slow down, stop, and open up your Bible and compare what people are saying in the Name of God to the Word of God.

There is no shortage of crazy things being said out there. We take the time to actually put things back into context by opening up the Bible and using sound biblical exegesis and hermeneutics, to test and see what the most popular pastors, preachers, teachers, conference speakers, and those put forth by the “Evangelical Industrial Complex” are saying to the Church and to the world.

We “fact check” what they say to see if it actually squares with what God's Word says. We encourage you to look at the Bible to see if they are preaching and teaching historic, biblical, Christian, orthodox theology and doctrine, or if they are twisting God's Word, teaching for shameful gain what they aught not to teach."

I did a search for Perry Stone and found these podcasts (edited to add: there is a "more" link at the bottom of the page):

On Sunday I attended a friend's church to hear a speaker she said is "anointed." His name is Perry Stone. I had not researched him and knew nothing about him. My friend is a strong Christian, so I assumed if she was a supporter of this speaker then he must be legit.

I was very disturbed by what I heard and saw. The first half of Stone's sermon was ok. He spoke of God's truth and quoted from the Bible a few times (not enough in my opinion, but I let it go). But about 30 minutes into his talk, things took a strange turn. A guy in the congregation started yelling unintelligibly and sobbing. It went on for a few minutes and Stone kept preaching, getting louder and more passionate.

A few people went over to the guy to see if he was all right. Meanwhile, Stone began inviting people up front so they could "be filled with the Holy Spirit." This was explained as a prayer Stone would say to people in order for them to be filled with the spirit. Prior to this, he spent about 10 minutes talking about all the languages he had spoken in while filled with the Holy Spirit, how God had enabled him to speak Spanish, Chinese, Portugese and so on at previous speaking engagements.

Most of this rant focused on Stone's seemingly incredible gift of in speaking with people in their native language. He made it seem like he could just call on this "gift" whenever he wanted.

I was very disturbed by all of this, because I know the Word tells us that when we are saved, we are filled with the Holy Spirit. He is always within us, so why would I need to go up front and have this guy pray over me? But scores of people went up front, including a friend I had brought with me!

This is a charismatic church that I've visited a few times, but I've never seem anything like this before. Stone was waving his hands over people and saying, "Be filled with the Spirit!" while also speaking gibberish (which I guess was supposed to "tongues?" But there was no interpreter.

Then to make things worse, the pastor got up at the end and encouraged people to stay as long as they wanted, because sometimes "we just need to feel God. We need to feel his presence strongly, and that's what is happening in this room." All this time the worship group was playing the same refrain of a song over and over again, and the room was dark except for strobe-type lights.

After I got home, my friend texted and asked me what I thought of the service. I waited to reply, because I wanted to pray about it and see what God said. I ended up telling her I was disturbed by what I heard, and I pointed out the error according to scripture in what Stone was saying. She basically did not believe me and said one of her friends was "healed from a cancerous tumor" during this service.

Is it worth saying anything else to my friend or will I just offend her? She is a member of his church.

Does anyone else have any experience with Perry Stone? If I have gotten this wrong, please tell me.
You have not gotten this wrong!!! Preachers, teachers, so called prophets who act like this, claim to speak different languages, heal people, even raise the dead are liars. I suggest you read the book "Charismatic Chaos" by John MacArthur and you will see what I mean. You were disturbed because you were able to discern and test the spirits as the Bible puts it. You knew I in your heart something wasn't lining up with scripture. Trust this feeling and read that book. It will explain WHY these things are not right and then you will have a solid foundation concerning these things.
As for your friend, pray for her. Pray that God would give her understanding and protect her. Trying to reason her out of her beliefs will only cause friction between you.

Perry Stone is not a false teacher, suggesting so is against the guidelines here.

I have seen him in person as well, and listened to many of his teachings. The guy is brilliant, the only person I've ever seen who can list of genealogies from memory... lol

The gifts of tongues is the "different kinds of tongues". Tongues for interpretation is just one kind. This is why Paul said, in 1 Cor 14:

4 He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. 5 I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification.

Here there are 2 types being talked about. He says we edify ourselves when praying in tongues first - that is individual, but he'd rather us prophesy over tongues, unless he interprets - that is corporate. Unless implies that it isn't mandatory that tongues be interpreted... it is a different kind. Speaking in human languages unknown to the speaker is another kind... they are all in the Bible in various places.

Warning, threads like this tend to blow up and get pretty crazy.

If you didn't like Perry Stone you would probably think it was ok t call him a false techer. It wouldn't be agaisnt the rules then. This person asked because they wanted to know. WE ought to be able to answer their question.

It’s gossip to speak of another w/o them around to defend themselves. Charismatic forums would be a better forum to take discussions about that (leaving out the name but describing the phenomenon.)

This forum is for learning for "apprentices of Jesus, that they look to Him, listen to Him, obey Him, pray with Him, and trust in Him."

I agree the name probably shouldn't have been used but this person is new to the site. However if the question is taken to a Charismatic thread that is the only side that will be presented.

A. It was a just a warning that the topic seemed to be bordering on the edge of the rules. Which was later confirmed by the mods.

B. Your logic makes no sense. It's against the guidelines to call public ministers false teachers unless you don't like them, then it's ok? Alrighty then.

It must be something in the water. This site seems to grow people who have the uncanny ability to say what was not said.

You actually said...……….
"so you are one who feels God just no longer interacts with humans any more."

Now then, is that what I actually said?

I said...........
"The fulfilling of Bible prophecy does not mean in any way that the Bible is still being written."

Let me clarify that for you. The Bible has been written and there is no more to be written to it.

I agree with you that some Bible study needs to be done, I just do not think that it is me.

You are clearly misstating what has been written to fit what you want the Bible to say.

That is always the 1st step toward false teaching.

May the Lord bless you as you study.

So you have noticed that too that many many people here tell you that you said something you did not say? I thought it was just happening to me, that I somehow could not make myself clear!

God had a plan.

the First Part of God's Plan (can be debate

d since we know the Adversary fell and was once our [mediator] between God and the people living on Earth {some claim these people were Genesis 1:1 which in the literal Hebrew is explained as the FIRST CREATION before Adam}) was the Old Testament

the Second Part of that Plan was the New Testament, more specifically from Daniel-Revelation-we could add first Book of Enoch here in how the final steps of the New Testament Plays out.

the Third Part of God's Ultimate Plan was the lives of those living when these Daniel - Revelation - Enoch Prophecies fulfill themselves. And every day from John (like you had mentioned = Last Apostle) to the final casting into the Lake of Fire, is being written by God's Word speaking it into existence "daily."

We have the outline of what's happening.
but, it's every day fulfilling that outline is what is being Spoke into existence as of Currently. Each day represents a new specific we did not know how this new prophecy would exactly unfold...well...we are living those moments and days as God unfolds and Fulfills those Prophecies.

so we are a Continuation of God's Holy Word, it was just OUTLINED before it actually took place. we are in those days that it is finally taking place, as God Speaks it into existence by filling in the missing blanks and specifics of how it would unfold!!

Don't know where you got all that from but none of it had been in any Bible I read, nd I have read several translations, several times.

THat is the condition of unregenerate men , or unclean/ uncleansed/ un-?????? men (maybe un-grown? un-able to take meat? (need milk) )(immature)
and note in Scripture, through all history, and in the usa, (for a century or more - see the politics and religion and science and corporations and schools) , that men say what is not true, claiming it is true, and men say that what is true is false.... i.e. common temptations, common trials , world wide 'forever', until Jesus returns.
and getting exponentially worse the last one hundred plus years, constantly.... (how else would false teachers etc flourish so much !? )

Ask yourself, how would one test a healing? Medical documentation of before and after. Follow up interviews in person.

James Randi did exactly that with many who were healed in pentecostal / charismatic healing ministries. He found that many where never sick or with a disease. He also found that many "lost" their healing. Most had no medical evidence at all.

Do not start with her friend or family member. Start with those recently healed and work backwards in time.

Approach it with her like it is a faith building exercise.

I know and it is maddening when in a discourse with someone who disagrees with you they DECIDE what is in your mind and then repeat their imagining s though you had actually SAID it!
Btw I thought your previous post to Major, when he thought he was talking to someone else, hilarious.
He said you (thinking it as someone else) said something he didn't say and you replied you often say things he didn't say etc. I got a kick out of it though I felt bad for Major. I wanted to text him or something, which I can't. Then I realized that happened back in October. You may not remember, but it entertained me.
