It is a point of joy and pride for me that he has on a couple of occasions said nice things about my model railway work.

But you said "Thanks to all who contributed!" Past tense, as though it was done.
Not "..who are contributing!" as though it was ongoing.

I do read carefully, but sometimes that gets me into as much trouble as not reading carefully can.
A mere mis-placed apostrophe can play havoc.
"I'm one of the senators' wives."
"I'm one of the senator's wives."
