Coming from a German that is actually quite funny.

She is German , originally from Hannover, so maybe you can just slip her picture in behind President Steinmeier when he gives speeches.

So the vote tomorrow will be on the withdrawal agreement alone. May is hoping that despite the DUP already committed to voting against she will convince enough of the ERG to back it alongside labour leavers.

BREXIT MPs realise that if they do not get this through now there is a strong chance of a much softer BRExIT than they want or indeed revocation. But not sure there are enough likely to defect to get this through.

If Mays deal is not passed then we leave on the 12th April unless we revoke. There is not time given by the EU for another option like 2nd referendum or a new kind of deal cause of the EU elections. So if May fails tommorrow the choice is actually hard Brexit or revocation.

And just think before the 2015 election Cameron warned that voting labour in would lead to chaos:doh:^_^!

Corbyn might actually be worse that the current government. Theresa May has definitely demonstrated noblesse oblige and I say that as someone who opposes BREXIT and who thinks the deal she negotiated with the EU is not good for the country even if it is the best BREXIT deal on the table.

Just watched the debate, they have rejected the withdrawal agreement which in effect leaves only revocation or Hard Brexit on the table.

Maybe they should flip a coin.

Think pistols at dawn, with live ammo and 100% accuracy by both leaders might solve some key issues.
100% accuracy? Those two?

Personally I think they should go with swords and let Ian Blackford into the mix.

Ir is a very sad situation. With about half of my ancestry coming from the UK, it saddens me that Parliament is unable to reach a consensus on a path forward. Personally, I think that a second referendum makes sense, considering the terrible mess that now exists. However, it appears that such will not happen. Honestly, I do not know what to say. I only hope that a way forward can be found to prevent severe economic distress and other potential troubles.

The votes today in the British parliament were negative on every positive way forward. Interestingly the option that got the most votes and far more than the governments BREXIT deal was a call for a second referendum.
What would that accomplish? The anti-Brexit parliamentarians would acclaim it if Remain won the day, but they already have made it known that they don't care what the people think or vote for; and the people who favor Brexit will probably not vote in very large numbers, knowing as they do that their votes will not count for anything anyway.

The internal mechanics of the Tory party are such that the party would probably fall apart if BREXIT were reversed. May has committed herself to this path and sees it as a matter of keeping her word. Also Corbyn is a closet BREXITEER who wants to see it happen and then the Tories fall as a result of the issue so that he can implement his own vision of a Marxist-Leninist planned state. (OK I exaggerate a little but he is very left wing)

The public put 6 million votes on a petition to reverse BREXIT. 55% apparently now want BREXIT reversed.

British Social Attitudes Survey

If there were an election tomorrow a lot of BREXIT MPS might lose their seats. BUt so also Corbyn might be elected which would be a disaster of biblical proportions for the country.

There is no time for a second referendum now though it was my preferred option also. The house has rejected Mays deal, does not want a hard BREXIT but can only stop that happening by agreeing to revoke. The EU are fed up with the whole process and are now unlikely to extend so all the options of negotiating new deals, arranging elections or referendums are pipedreams.
