1 corinthians 7 says it is good for a man to not touch a woman, doesn't this logically mean that any physical contact before marriage is a sin and too far, meaning hand holding, even high fives, much less hugs, kissing, and more? not that i did this, but

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Paul said to greet each other with a kiss!
In the culture of NT times women were generally kept pretty much confined and had very limited access to social contact with men other than immediate family. Thus Paul was careful to ensure the new community was not seen as a licentious or immoral group by society. They were to exhibit a new kind of behaviour, where rank, status and gender were no longer divisive factors. Women were regarded very differently in the NT church, given full equality and respect. But this did mean the Jesus followers must evidence a high standard of sexual morality as well, again in contrast to the surrounding values.
In a modern society we need to rethink Paul's admonition in a way that is relevant to us today. We have greater freedoms and need to live out of healthy standards, again in contrast to many modern sexual values.

I don't trust the KJV automatically as the most accurate translation out there just cause it happens to be one of the oldest.
Secondly you are being overly literal.
Third I'm afraid of what the overly legalistic purity cult would do with such things.
Fourth there is no tradition within the Christian faith to support such a standard or law.

I'd point out that Paul says its good not a sin.
Paul also thought it was good for Christians to stay single.
Paul also says a few verses later that this was his opinion not didn't ahve a command from God about what he was saying on this topic.
So a Christian can choose to not touch a woman. But they need to know its their choice and isn't something they should expect of others. Nor does making that choice mean they are better or more holy Chrisitans.
