It's about what America was left with in the aftermath and things that have happened since then to keep the 'the Democrat party is a disaster' impression going.

This is about the upcoming election between Democrats and Republicans. So of course how American voters feel about the two parties means something. The unpopularity of the Democrat party is due to a mixed bag of things.

I can agree with that last statement. But, whatever problems we, as democrats, have with the party doesn't mean we'll start voting republican.
