I don't read the bible itself very much anymore either because of the huge library of theology books I've acquired lately and don't seem to have time to get thru either. But they constantly keep me referring to the bible. But having a chain reference bible is amazing too for getting the book to come alive.

Anyone's thoughts on an audio Bible? I am listening to it now and I think that it would me super amazing to listen to it whilst I am sleeping.

I listened to the RC Sproul series where he goes all the way through the Bible. I thought it was awesome.

Tell your Father.

(In other words, now may be time to upgrade from the "milk" of the canon to the "meat" of a direct conversational/educational relationship with our Father through the Holy Spirit.)

The Word of God is a Living Entity. He was crucified and died for the remission of sins - resurrecting to Life. The Word of God is not in any book, and cannot be contained in any book. The Word of God is written on your heart as per the new covenant. So, if you are bored with reading the canon, it may be time to talk to your Father as a primary form of relationship.
Who wouldn't agree with that, eh? Absolutely.

There are books you can buy that will tell you the root word meaning, in the original languages of the Bible. I don't know the name of the book off the top of my head but someone I know bought one. It might make it more interesting.

Hi, I understand how important it is to read scripture everyday but I am beginning to fear that I am growing tired of reading it. It feels kind of boring and repetitive and I really hate to feel that way about it.

Any advice?

The better you know God, and the more you love Him, the more exciting and satisfying His word will be to you. Your boredom with the Bible is indicative of boredom with your Maker.

Ah Fantastic! I did not think of taking an online course!
Sometimes I'll accompany reading the Bible with a Bible commentary. Matthew Henry or John Gil are popular and very insightful.

Great suggestion. There's Strong's Concordance, Vine's Expository Dictionary, or The Interpreter's Bible.

Try audio apps or Christian literature. The Bible comes alive when it starts speaking to you personally.

A lot of angles you can take here; I'd recommend perhaps looking into some of the apocryphal books, those that are still in the Catholic Bible, and those that were in discussion in the Early Church. I've read a few of the books that are in Catholic & Orthodox Bibles, but none of the books that aren't in any official Bible, but I've heard you can see a lot of the culture of the early Church from writings that aren't officially Biblical.

Have you heard of NT Wright? He is a respected Bible scholar whose writings might help you rev up your interest in the Bible. Worked for me.

Where are you reading at? Pray He gives you a stronger desire to read.

Be gripped by what it says! Revelation 21 and 21 are remarkable. John's First Epistles has searing themes that illuminate lethargic hearts. Romans 8 is written in tremendous language. The Psalms contain so many cries from the heart. Isaiah 53 contains such clear views of the sufferings of the Lord Jesus at the Cross.
