What a waste of money. Meanwhile you have homeless and hungry people. People scared for their health but can't financially justify a trip to their doctor...

Congratulations. I hope you feel good about yourselves.
all the money spent on illegals could more than take care of legal citizens

It is not a waste of a countries money to defend their borders from invaders. Actually, that is a Constitution function of the federal government.

Taking care of the poor is a job left to the state governments. As it should be. It isn't a purpose of the federal government.

If government made sure that everyone had jobs, then gangs would vanish. The gangs in my city are locally sourced. I think in Chicago as well.

This is simply not true. Many people are not willing to work (even given the opportunity), including those involved in the drug world. Many of them could care less about a 9-5, they want it all and they want it now, they chase the "player's life", makin' the big bucks, big stacks. It does not help that Hollywood and media have for years glamorized and glorified the thug life. Not until the series "Breaking Bad" had I viewed much of anything from Hollywood which did not glamorize the dark illegal narcotics world.

So history repeats its self and this is not diffrent at all,

When this wall is built it will not keep gains out, and people will still get over the wall and no one will watch hundreds of miles of wall.

The wall will go unrepaired for years and wall any how.

Like the Coast Guard doesn't guard our water borders? I think they do a pretty good job. It would be nice if we would give our Border Guards the same ability to do their job.

If anybody watches a couple of Gangland TV episodes they will understand that you are correct most (all)of them do not want to work.

Gang Bangers that sell drugs and abuse and kill people think that their job is doing exactly that.

Chain link fence topped with razor wire, guarded by security personnel, dogs, and electronic devices. Trump's wall is not a good idea. Why is it that we find ways to make a total mess out of simple problems. Or worse yet, we don't seem to see the problems.

Having lived in the ghetto, I'm aware of the work ethic there.
9-5 would be awesome hours for many, but not gang kids
so there is no issue there. You make a perfect point that
jobs, all jobs, fail to reward people correctly in the way each
individual prefers to be rewarded. Many of us would work for
free given the right alternate compensation.

Full employment is the solution. We should get busy. Every person should work.
Proverbs 13:4
The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing,
while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare (not capitalized) and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Tell them to please come to California. Here in California we give all of the homeless debit cards which are good for a couple of hundred dollars of food a month. Plus, many churches and shelters serve up free meals.

One of my homeless friends was receiving a little over $400 a month.

I have been giving Bibles and assistance to the homeless for over 40 years. I know many, many, many.

Bring them all to California what the heck we seem to be giving away everything here for free anyway.

M-Bob
I’m afraid this is part of the Left’s plan Bob. It doesn’t bother them at all to completely ruin California. Once that happens the federal government will then have to relocate them all evenly throughout the rest of the states, and force those states to provide the assistance (if only for humanitarian reasons). It will be like hitting the lotto for them in my state as well... madness.

As far as working toward being a legal citizen while working in the US, it's a great idea but once you're living on a farm (for example) putting in 16-hour days of hard manual labor, can you imagine looking forward to going home and opening up one of your 30 volumes of English literacy lessons? This describes my friend and I know he wants to be a citizen and his English has definitely improved, but I have to admit I feel bad for him when I see his bookshelf full of English books that he has yet to get through. Most of the time he's simply too exhausted. But he keeps them dusted off... :)

I think the LEGAL process needs to be made easier and not be a drawn-out decades long thing. That's kind of ridiculous. If people just cross the border, how does that make those folks feel who are trying to do it right but get so little support?

I doubt it is or will be solid wall all the way across, consider all the miles and various terrain.

Why do yall equate MS 13 with Hispanics . Most illegals get low paying jobs and stay out of trouble . I live in a Hispanic neighbourhood and they rarely cause problems. The biggest complaint I’ve ever had - playing music late on Sunday night
Illegals don't belong here. Period.

I'll be honest, the comparison of Kate's Wall to the Berlin Wall is kind of insane. Germany was defeated after World War II and carved up like a Thanksgiving Day turkey. The wall divided the east from the west.

Oh, and it was extremely successful in doing so.

Kate's Wall isn't meant to carve up America. It's designed to keep invaders out.

hispanics are a race - no one is accusing a race

ms13 is a dangerous murderous mafia-like gang - all of us are opposed to the gang

why do yall equate ms13 with hispanics when we don't?
Race doesn’t exist in humans ;) sorry my bio background couldn’t let that one pass

not sure what you mean

are you saying we are all one race - the human race?

if so - 20 amens to that
yes , humans aren’t genetically diverse enough to actually have races even though we look different. Some elephants , brine shrimp and other species do have races even though they all look alike to us

Crossing the border THEN trying to do it right ISN'T the right way to do it. We don't have open borders. The right way is to come in legally... It isn't easy but I don't think it is easy to change citizenship into any country. Your friend is working 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year? Why would he want to be here? That isn't a life.

Most Canadians don't try to come in illegally though I work with several that cross the border to work in the US and then go home either daily or on their off days. However, there are border guards on the northern border and often long lines to get across either way.

What is the simple solution? (And I don't know that protecting a country's border is a simple problem)
