you missed what i said - you misunderstood what trump meant - o well - it will happen whether you understand or not - time will prove it - just as with all trump's promised kept

You asked me if I thought Trump saying that Mexico would pay for the wall meant that Mexico was going to directly pay the contractors building the wall

you didn't think when trump said mexico was paying that he meant they were going to pay the contractors building the wall did you?

we knew what he meant if you didn't

Your premise is that Mexico (in one way or another, in particular through a trade agreement) would finance the wall

actually didn't you hear that there is a new fair trade deal with mexico - so the hundreds of millions of dollars that puts back into america on a yearly basis is how mexico is paying for the wall

When I answered your question, and gave you evidence that the president of Mexico himself said Mexico will never pay for the wall (despite an agreement), you claim I missed what you said. I got what you said, which is why I said you are doing one of the following:

So, you are deluded, role-playing or you are insinuating that Trump is going to fraud the Mexican government through a trade agreement.
The reality is that the president of Mexico has already said several times he will not pay for a wall between the States and Mexico. So, if Trump did what you are suggesting (using monies from the trade agreement for the purposes of refunding the construction of the wall), then depending on the trade agreement he may have already broken it. In general, it is pretty slimy to make a trade agreement with a nation, and then use parts of the deal to (re)fund the construction of a border wall - despite the vehement rejection of such a thing from the other party. Who would sign such a trade agreement unless it was based on deceit - even if it is "loophole legal." It is shady business, and it will come back to bite America in the behind.

But, if you want to keep telling me I miss the point, then that is fine. I most certainly won't waste my words or play games with you.

As we see, even if Trump could put a 60% tax on Mexican imports, it would be Americans paying for the taxes, not Mexicans.

When the wall gets built without federal funds, then someone else is paying for it.

You actually believe that the trade deal is going to give us hundreds of billions of dollars from Mexico? Last year, total exports to Mexico were about 270 billion.

Last. time I checked, Trump was saying he intended to put a 20 percent tax on goods coming in from Mexico. Obviously, that would mean Americans would be paying for it. Trump dropped that idea when his staff explained to him why it wouldn't be Mexico paying for it. Now you're telling us about his new story. If you thought about it, you'd realize Mexico won't be paying that way, either.

Everyone knows that wasn't his first story. Just saying.

I don't think some realize that the 'new' trade deals are the old trade deals with provisions of the TPP in them.
Also, some don't realize that tariffs mean WE pay more for the things we buy from that country.

Mexico isn't paying for a wall, and so far, congress has hardly put money to the cost of it.
