No, I asking you how TRUMP made them do that. What did he DO?
It's a legitimate question and maybe something that Biden should also do.
He made deals or no deals i believe concerning trade with Mexico based upon their co operation on enforcing their own borders. Biden has not kept border enforcement period. He has invited them in.

Children have been fleeing gang violence / recruitment for a number of years. If your 14 daughter was about to be kidnapped or worse into a gang, what would you do?
That is their own governments problem. We have our own problems with this that needs to be taken care of. Why are is there more concerned with another nations children before our own?

What specific actions has he taken to make that a reality?
What does it matter? Biden invited them in without any of trumps former policies to keep them out to apply for asylum in their own countries, or in Mexico. Why did it stop under Trump? Because most are not really about asylum, but chain migration.

What does it matter?

Because when discussing the actions of someone it's typical to point to what actions they have taken if one is interested in a fact based discussion. What policy has been changed? What laws have been passed?

I'd like to know for sure what deals he made. So far I haven't seen Biden pulling out of any deals with Mexico, have you?

Not before our own. That is just paranoia. Along with our own. Those children are fleeing crime-ridden failed states, and the failure of those states is at least partly our fault.

What would you have them do differently with the minor children showing up at the border asking to come in?

This:

What Trump did. Have governments not allow them to pass through their country to get here. In short they would not make it past their own borders in their country of origin to be a problem in the first place.

QFT

"Chain migration" is a scare term for the very simple and understandable phenomenon of one family member preceding the rest of their family immigrating to a country. To people who think that brown people are scary and gross, I'm sure this seems extremely frightening. To the rest of us, it doesn't.

If we're going to have "send us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free" on one of our most iconic statuary, we should live up to that promise.

Which news source, I've never heard or read it on FoxNews.
I don't think the poster that I was speaking with knows either so maybe you can enlighten both of us? Thanks

But it isn't about freedom for many illegals. It is about money. Whether it be through human trafficking, and drug trafficking. That is why to legally seek asylum while remaining in your country of origin needs to remain intact. Those truly seeking asylum can come in legally.

Right: against immigrants.

Oh, so you know all the people who cross the border personally and can speak for them? You must get a lot of Christmas cards.

Reverse course for which policy specifically?

[And yes, I see you won't acknowledge the "push" factors that cause children to flee their home countries. Until the root cause of illegal immigration is addressed (violence ), they will continue to come.]
And children will continue to be trafficked. it is a pretense that what is going on is a kindness.

Right: against immigrants.
I called your words to me as slander. You were not addressing Immigrants in your words. Nor were you addressing me concerning legal immigrants. But I also believe you already know this as well.

I'm aware of what you meant, but your ranting about """chain migration""" is slander against immgirants.

Who claimed such a thing?

You did, since you seem to be able to intuit that everyone crossing the border is engaging in child trafficking, etc.

There's a lesson here in speaking collectively about people when you don't have the facts.

I'm done here. I used the term "most", but apparently I still said "everyone". There is no point to continue this kind of conversation. So now go ahead and think or claim "you shut me down so well I won't respond.

I wasn't going to say that at all, but saying "most" doesn't change the fact that """chain migration""" is a fash term for a very common and understandable phenomenon.

All children matter. And our country can take care of our own children and take steps to address the root causes of illegal immigration in places like Guatemala. They are not mutually exclusive.

Remember those verses in the Bible where we are told only to be concerned about our own people and not spare a single thought for the people and children of other lands who need help?

Neither do I, but I've never read the New Selfishness Version (NSV) of the Bible.
