  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Can anyone on here tell me about Boise? Also looking into relocating there, I hear the cost of living is cheap and the area is nice. How is the weather there? Cold, hot?

Is is mostly desert? I know Boise is the city of trees.......LOL. But, isn't ID mostly desert?

Thanks

I certainly can.
Cost of living is relatively cheap compared to other places. It is really booming here lately as more and more people find out about it, so obviously the prices go up as more people come.

The weather - it gets to be hot, usually high 90's in the summer, often reaching 100's. It's not humid here, so it is bearable.
It also gets cold in the winter. Not unbearable, but it is cold.

Yes, Idaho has desert. So does Oregon. There is also tons of mountains, lakes, rivers and streams. Lots of snow in the mountains during winter - great for skiing.

Definitely come and visit before you decide to relocate, though.

Hope I could help.

Idaho is a great place to live. and if you're in Boise, there's tons to do. No matter what the weather. if you like to ski, there are several great places. if you like to hike, there are several great places as well. camping, canoeing, fishing, relaxing, movies, shopping, go carts, dining, dancing, etc. the list goes on and on.

But as previous poster suggested, take the time to come here and visit for a week, if possible, to check things out, price the apartments, houses, or duplex's.

Idaho is a beautiful place... Boise especially. There is desert here, but like mentioned before, there is desert everywhere.

Prices of homes are pretty cheap compared to other states, especially if you buy or rent a place in a town right outside of Boise, such as Meridian, Nampa or Caldwell.

If you enjoy outdoor activities, then there is a lot to satisfy you around here. Hiking, skiing, climbing, camping, fishing, hunting, etc. We also have other things to do as well, such as shopping, movies, restaurants, gardens, museums, a zoo, etc.
