  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What where does it say that ?
There's rules to communicating?
It's not the same question BigToe, the first question was getting out of the corner, the second question is getting out of the room.

I assumed you knew the first question was about getting ut of a room, I mean that's the whole point of that phrase, so nope it's a new question.
Plus you do know that the floor is painted as well as the walls, the whole room is painted.?

The same answer applies. A little scraper and some turpentine.

What do yo want for your birthday?
Well my birthday is in April. But I think this next year I am going to pick a charity I admire the work of and ask that people instead take the money they would spend on a gift and donate it to the charity instead. It will most likely be a shelter to help victims of sexual assault.

What is your favourite dream vision? Do you have the dream often?
I don't really have a favorite dream of any sort. I like ones where I can fly, does that count? That or traveling the world.

If you wrote and directed a movie, what would the synopsis be?
If I told you, you might steal my idea. However, I have absolutely no interest in writing or directing. I had to in school on short films for class projects and those are the two roles I loathed.

Do you like green eggs and ham?
In Pre-K we made green eggs and ham one day since we read the book in preschool. It was funny. But seeing as I don't much like eggs most of the time and am not a big fan of ham, I do do not like green eggs and ham. Being the picky eater that I am.

Hey, we did that too! I ate the eggs, but I didn't like ham so I didn't try that. I guess the whole point of the book, though. ;)

What is your spiritual autobiography?

Ask me my own question, why don't you!

Like you, as a child I always spoke for our pets upon their burial. I wonder if the people living in that house now realize they have a pet cemetary in all the flower beds...

My dad's parents were Southern Baptist. So in the summers and when we would visit, we would go to church with them. At home, we would go, without any sort of regularity, to the Episcopal church.

When I was really young, my mom was going to an Episcopal seminary, which I am just now remembering. She never finished. And we stopped going to church except for Easter and Christmas (if we were in town for either of those holidays) before too long, though I cannot quite remember how old I might have been.

But I've always been someone who enjoyed spending time outside. Not like in the backyard, but going for a hike in the woods or something really out in nature. I have always felt some sort of strong connection there, like things were just right.

Seniors at my high school all took theology. We studied a couple of theories on religious beliefs, and a few different religions. But a lot of it was looking at nature and how to connect with yourself. It was pretty cool.

After high school I became depressed over some bad choices others made and started going to a Baptist church and Bible study with a friend. I relearned how to smile and felt really happy. Then I went off to college and things weren't right. When I came home for the summer and got plugged back in, I felt happy and realized just how unhappy I had been at Pepperdine. So I didn't return. I got really involved and saw first hand how people would make their acts of service their god and judge others. It was really hard to watch and they were trying to get me sucked in. And while I knew what service meant for me, they tried to make it what it meant for them, so I pulled myself away from it.

Currently, I'm not sure what all I believe or if I believe anything at all. I both desperately want to and have no desire at all. I think more importantly, I need to figure some things out in the "real world" to get to a point where I can approach God with a more open and genuine spirit. As it is now, I am scared that holding on to a belief in God is so that I can have someone/something to blame and to hate him. Because hating God seems easier to do than hating a parent.

You've picked your nose in a fancy restaurant. Do you dispose of the evidence in the lobster tank, or flick it into the consumme?
I flick it to the floor under the table. I also try to do it so no one notices.
