CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hmm. Well I had to read her book I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings pretty early, so it was my first encounter with her. She had to deal with a lot from her youth on, from dealing with racism to being raped to living on the streets or having a child at an early age. And while I have, luckily, not experienced any of those things first hand, it was touching to read about her experiences knowing who she later became. So knowing that she pretty much lived at the bottom that life had to offer and yet made something positive out of her life was quite inspiring. Bad stuff may happen to us, but it can't hold us back.Alternate Carpark said:

Funny you should ask. But I suppose someone was going to eventually. As a toe, I have toe thoughts. Now, sometimes these thoughts are ok, but sometimes they get a bit old. Not bad old, but just not fresh. So that's when I let my friends Fingers do the typing. No. As we cannot really survive without our human counterparts, we aren't really considered a species. Humans aren't exactly on the endangered route, so we aren't on any lists of protection.LibertyChic said:

That toe only journals on livejournal. The right middle toe on xanga. Both pinkies are on blogger. The big toes share one on cross and flame. The two pointer toes and the right ring toe are on multiply.com. So only the left ring toe is on Myspace.chaoschristian said:
