  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Toning up is good. I'm working on that too. Part of my workout routine involves weights and other toning exercises.
I'm thinking about starting the Couch to 5K plan. It might take me longer than 9 weeks. I'm NOT a runner.

I did a tour of a really cool health facility in a hospital next to my work. It was really cool actually. It has a pool and I love swimming laps. I believe it will be the winner! It has already gotten hot and humid here. Heat drains me completely and nearly makes me ill even if I drink water. This situation has officially pushed me to getting a gym membership so I can finish losing my excess weight.

I know the "contest" part of this thread never happened, but I am truly happy to see that people are using this thread for encouragement and accountability. I am really happy people can come here and ask questions and get helpful tips and hints.

I know how to lose weight and how to do things right. I was a PE/Health major in college so the head knowledge part is easy. My biggest obstacle has always been my motivation to actually do it.

Well, I recently have found someone who makes me want to get healthy so I can be there for her for lots and lots of years. We have been taking walks together and helping each other make healthy food choices.

Basicly, I just want to encourage everyone to find someone to work out with and keep you motivated. For me, it is a romantic relationship, but that is not the only option. Find that work out partner.. It makes it so much easier!
