  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I just did 20 minutes of walking. And I have to say, I am sitting here trying not to tear up. My back is in so much pain. Ever since the shooting, I have been having issues with where the bullet tore through the tissue in my back. I was told I needed no more doctors appointments or physical therapy.

I think I need a second opinion. About half way through my walk, I had to force myself not to stop and quit. I just took 4 Alleve, so hopefully that helps with inflammation and pain.

I am going to have to come up with something that is low/no impact on my back and knees. I am going to keep exercising, but somethings gotta gotta give.

I am frustrated because I wanted to walk for 45 minutes. I think it's time to start looking at a bicycle again. The low impact would probably be the best for me.

honestly I'd robably be in tears just from knowing how much the lower back plays into ust about everything.

As for low impact, what do you think about swimming? I mean, there's going to be alot of twisting in the torso area, but then again the bike incorporates the back too.

Yoga? Tai Chi? One of those bike where you're sitting down with your legs out in front of you? Boxing (heavy bag work)?

I really don't know but I'll post bad ideas if it prompts a good idea from someone else.

I played ball at 285 in college. I'd like get down below that. Ultimately, I would love to get down to the 240 range, but realistically, 270 is the current goal.

Well, I want to do it healthy. My goal is by the end of the next school year, which give mes about 1 year and 4 weeks to get it down. That is slightly less than 2 pounds a week, which is pretty healthy.

Spicy, I benched 270 in high school, you panzy!

Man, I don't even know if I could bench 270 right now. That would be a chore.

I think last time my kids challenged me, I threw up 300lbs one time. Then I wanted to crawl into a hole and die.
