Body of Christ /bride of Christ are just metaphors.

Your comment about men being among the bride meaning that they would be transgender if true would apply just as much to Israel as the church, showing your analogy is weak.

How about the branch? All those are metaphors speaking of Christ's church, not Israel.

Today, and even more in biblical days, a husband exercises authority over his wife. That and the close relationship between them that each shares is all that bride of Christ means, no sexual connotation to it. Remember the scripture man is the head of woman, Christ is the head of man, God is the head of Christ? Look up 1 Corinthians 11:3.

So Christ is also the head of the collective church. He rules it like our brains rule our bodies. Like a husband rules his wife.

Hi Woke,

I said `when we are saying that people of transgender are against God`s ways.` People don`t say we are like a bride, they state `We are Christ`s bride.` In this latest generation it has become so `romantic` this concept of the bride, that I`m told, there are even `Jesus my boyfriend` type songs.

As to Israel being the bride, the wife of God, that refers to His ownership of the nation. God says, `For your Maker is your husband,` (Isa. 54: 5) meaning owner, master. That is a different concept than what is being present to Christians today.

Thank you for the Greek lesson, however I`m sure the nouns in Koine Greek are also classified. BTW do you know how a doctrine is developed? Is it with a symbol, an exhortation?
Doctrine was revealed to the Church and then handed down from generation to generation. When heresy cropped up then doctrine was defended and clarified to proclude heretical interpretations.
Development of doctrine is a term the Catholic Church came up with to 'explain' how their teaching has changed over the centuries.

And has been repeatedly said to you, Paul does not use the neuter, but the feminine pronoun. He uses αὐτῆς not αὐτοῦ.

New Jerusalem..how do you get OT Saints will be in it and the "bride/body of Christ" will be with Christ on His throne? Where GOD is also.. "even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne"
So were going to be with Christ and God the Father while OT saints will be in New Jerusalem?

Whats written about the new city "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God." I know how it was org written and nothing has changed.

Some things being said are speculation. Well some things you said are not written. Its what you personally believe. :)

I Believe that the OT saints will there.

Hi prodromos,

So does that mean we can take an exhortation, or a symbol and make a teaching out of it?

Hi ViaCrucis,

So does that mean that we, if the bride, become Queen of heaven? Or is that spot for another?

And I thought that God`s word says that we will be KingPriests. (Rev. 1: 6)

Also I thought that God`s word says there are no marriages in heaven.

`Jesus answered and said to them, " Are you not therefore mistaken because you do not now the Scriptures nor the power of God? For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like the angels in heaven.` (Mark 12: 24 & 25)

No.

Correct.

Marilyn.

Not talking about heaven, but the resurrection. But, yes, that's correct--in the resurrection we neither marry nor are given in marriage.

Of course literally none of that is relevant to this discussion.

Jesus isn't literally going to marry us. That's ridiculous.
