I enjoy reading with you.

I've been looking for a Bible study for some time and this is nice.
I had to go with an easier to read translation for today's reading, as my brain wouldn't cooperate with the translation I normally use.
In Psalm 39, David asks God to tell him the length of his days and when his life will end. A handbreadth is basically measuring something with the base of the hand, so that's quite short. Everyone is but a breath, even those who seem secure... that really spoke to me. We may think we will live a long life and could leave this earth in an instant. Very profound and true. He says everyone goes around like a phantom, heaping up wealth. Again this is true. 'Lord, who do I look for? My hope is in You.' I love this verse. David asks God to hear his cry.
In Psalm 40, it seems to start straight after Psalm 39 ended. God hears David's cries for help and turned his life around in a complete 180. He's got a firm place to stand, a new song in his mouth, he's trusting the Lord. He praises God for His many wonders and deeds. He desire's God's will and sets His law in his heart. It basically goes on the same throughout the entire chapter. I do love the ending though.
"But as for me, I am poor and needy;
may the Lord think of me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
you are my God, do not delay."
In Psalm 41, God has mercy on those who regard the weak. David's enemies want him to die and they speak falsely against him. David is backstabbed by a close friend and asks the Lord to have mercy on himself.
Overall I very much enjoyed the reading, especially Psalm 40.
