Yes, very shady:p I'm just kidding. Actually, I get the sense that you are mostly kidding on here, yourself. I bet you have boring normal dates like the rest of us:)
You would think...but no... :p

To be fair it kind of is, given the possibilities ...

I think the book is so poorly written that no one can possibly take it seriously. In fairness I never read it (not my thing) but I have heard enough excerpts from the book. It is almost laughable it is so stupid. I can't reference the certain quote that comes to mind, but it is far from dark. So, in that sense, it really isn't this intense erotic thriller. I think if the author could actually write, she could have made a much darker, more intense plot on this subject. I never understood the appeal of this book trilogy or the movie. I almost laughed when I heard some women discussing how the movie just didn't live up to the book, lol

I'm tired of dates being so cliché and dull.

From here on out, I'm only going to bother with a first date if it means my life will be in danger at some point during the encounter. You know, boxing with grizzly bears, infiltrating the North Koreans, and hunting the most dangerous game -- man.

a picnic deep in the park
more like a tiny forest then a city park
we would have a large blanket spread out
some good French cheese and French wine, maybe a pink wine from the Rhone Valley or Provence
if she is not agreeable to rose wine, we could get something white, Pinot Gris
good bread
good cheese, probably a double crème brie
raspberries

a nice picnic in the woods

then to a coffee shop or bookstore
probably the bookstore would be better, but I would be agreeable to whatever was the inclination of the lady

then 5:30 Mass at an old and beautiful church north of Campus

I don't like dates, at all. There's too much pressure to 'be your best'. I much prefer to just go with the flow, be around them long enough and often enough to establish something worth exploring and then just beginning a relationship. Pretty much how it's always been for me.

Dates are like interviews and even though I interview well, I'm not exactly tripping over myself to be interviewed unless it's necessary!

I've read a chapter, it was part of our book club reading list. Couldn't finish it. I guess I see the appeal (at least I've had it explained to me often enough), but it seems to be rooted in how easy it is to read. Unless you go seeking a deeper meaning, it's pretty much just cheap, publicly acceptable erotica.

Nothing wrong with easy to read things. I'm just too easily flustered to discuss 50 Shades with a bunch of other women finding reasons to justify their enjoyment of it...

I'll get off my soapbox now.

We should be roommates, I think we would be like Nick and Schmidt from New Girl.

I'll be the man-child... unless you want to be the lovable scapegoat (Winston).

And yes, True American is a non-negotiable house game to be played once per week, Clinton rules every other week.

We should start our own book club. I think we might have similar tastes in reading material. I remember you referencing a Tale of Two Cities in one post. I think we might be on the same page about what constitutes quality:)

A Tale of Two Cities is referenced periodically. I seem to recall Miss Spaulding mentioning it on occasion, and after I was banned by mistake last fall, I set my custom title to 'Recalled to Life' for a while when it was lifted.
