Maybe he just heard a jet stream.
Yeah, I don't know why everyone is reading so much into that really. We often hear planes before we see them, so it only makes sense to me that the Suburban Others would hear the plane and then look to the sky to try and locate it. I really don't think Ben or anyone had any knowledge prior to the crash that it was going to happen.

Yeah, I'm one of the people who saw him in The Practice. Creeped me out then too, little psycho serial killer.

How old would you say Benry is? Maybe 40? He's been on the island a looooong time. What was going on with Hanso/Dharma in the 60's?

I agree, I'm trying to debunk the "It's proof Benry caused the plane crash!" theory :p
Yeah, that's just plain silly...unless part of the theory is, 'One day, Benry was really BORED. So to give himself something to do he decided to crash a plane onto his island.' Seriously, the Other's subdivision has a book club - what more could he need to keep himself entertained?

Morrowind.
True. Though, so far, I'm not that impressed with the computers and TVs on the Island. (I mean, c'mon, their washer and dryer are more advanced.) The puters would definitely not support a graphics card capable of running Morrowind.

I confess, I'm getting a little suspicious about the technology thing - could it be that the Suburban Others are only getting the info and technology that someone on the outside WANTS them to have? hhhhmmmmmmmm....

Might explain one of the reasons why he was so keen on getting the boat - a way off the island not controlled by his sponsors. That little motorboat deal is strictly short range.

:p Always so nice to have a theory called just plain silly...

I do believe these posts came up when talking about the possible "Carrie" connection. It was a book that Juliette mentioned Ben hated, and he wasn't attending the book club, which seemed odd to at least some of those who were in attendance.

He probably has nothing to do with the crash - yet on this show - who knows? Other things have certainly come out of nowhere.

I take these theories as just that...theories, which to me means maybe, could be, do you suppose? Rather than cemented in stone. Who knows what little thing will be totally insignificant and what thing will mean a lot?

It's one of the reasons I like to talk about the show and it's twists and turns.

Good point. Could be that they are ALL part of an ongoing experiment and Benry has been there the longest so naturally he would be in charge. I didn't notice any "older" people other than Tom.

But if he has been there is whole life, how did he get there. Who took care of him.

AND WHERE ARE THE CHILDREN!!!!!

AHA! That's it. It explains Walt and everything. There is an accelerrated rate of growth among the 'Others.' The kids have already grown up! Benry is actually only about 8. It explain a lot about his attitude. :p

But he has the manipulative tactics of a well-developed adult.
