I want to debunk the idea of spiritualizing the mark in Revelation 13:16-17 right now. It will be a physical mark, and this is why. Revelation 13:16-17 states [He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their forehead. And that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name]

I liked your post....you could be right about the above too but I'm leaning towards that you're not. We fail I think to recognize that this type of poetic expressive phrase was used in the earlier OT books too but NEVER meant literal applications physically speaking.

“You shall bind them (Gods words) as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.” Deuteronomy 6:8

Your frontlets between your eyes or forehead means what you give your thought life over to the word.....and the hands represent your actions. I appreciate it says in Rev right hand OR forehead.....but the symbolic expression still works.....If you give your thought life over to the beast to be in agreement with him OR, OR you may not verbally say you do showing what you think BUT your actions (hand) still line up with him you won't be saved.

SPECIAL NOTE THOUGH: If I came up to a place where an Anti-Christ figure was telling us we need this physical mark on our right hand or forehead I wouldn't do it.

So the idea of many is they might insert some chip in everyone's forehead. What leader seeking to get control would think that's a wise thing to do. Everyone's face is a very sensitive area where cosmetically speaking the last thing people would want is something that's going to compromise their beauty or appealing looks. Plus also a chip there's a risk of infection. Also we're to believe someone with a laser gun is going to flash that in someone's face every time they make a financial transaction? The public would stand for that?

Also the right hand. Why the right hand? Why not the left? Understanding that it's all symbolic we can know.....the right hand has always been a type in scripture of your devotion. Jesus is seated at the right hand of God the Father. I can't see if it's physical an anti Christ could care less if it's in the right or left hand.

you could still buy and sell but you can easily see that if it kept heading in that direction then how easily you could go about your normal life of making a living could be impacted seems questionable and they are preparing for the next pandemic . The development of CBDC also looks like it could create similar problems.

This all assumes a completely literal interpretation of revelation which is not an easy scripture to begin with, so if a lot of what it describes seems similar to where things are headed then if someone says it’s the mark of the beast, I don’t know if i personally would scoff at them

CBDC can easily be set up to prevent you from traveling very far by limiting your ability to purchase too much gasoline for instance. They could prevent you or limit you from buying too much of anything that the system doesn’t want you to have or punish you and limiting your ability to buy anything based on any criteria that they decide on

It’s not necessarily quite the same. CBDC are issued by a central bank and have additional characteristics
