• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
 • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

i think we need to take what the bible says about what makes a false prophet and leave it at that.

but as far as his course of action in healing. God knows whether benny is doing according to Him or for show. It is Gods job to deal with the heart.

If you decide to watch or go to one of his shows.. just be prayerful, ask for wisdom for God to divide Truth from showiness, and put on your armour. Either way you will ready.. for the enemy or for God.

There will be a profile on Benny tonight on Primetime (ABC).
All I have to say is that many Christians willingly set aside their doubts when someone comes to them "in the name of the Lord". They did this with George Bush in 2000 and now with Benny. If a man truly is doing the Lord's work he will survive the doubts of a skeptic and respect him more for his caution. Remember Paul.

Sorry, but as I've never heard Benny Hinn ever say the Name of God, I can't accept that He comes in His Name.

I'm not sure what I said that would make you think that. Other than if you dont like Benny Hinn or agree with his teachings it's okay. I'm not a die hard Benny Hinn person myself, but I do believe the man has done good for the kingdom of God. Many Blessings friend... :)

As for me, each time I've heard Benny Hinn say the Name of God with much love and respect, don't know where were you, or if it's the same Benny Hinn we are talking about?????

Benny Hinn is doing great things for the Lord...God bless that man of God much!

Just remember Great men of God did awsome things for God yet were led astray by the intents of the heart. King David.

When you evaluate a pastor, man or leader it is imparitive that you look to the whole of that man. Does he follow God to the Best of His ability? Does his actions glorify man or God? Does he say things in God's name without it coming to pass? Does he walk what he talks? etc.

Man can not look to a leader and discard things he find taht contradicts his views of that man and take the rest. If Benny Hinn proclaimed many things without it coming to pass in the name of God, than biblically we have to call him a false prophet. Even thought he does and has done great things in God, doesnt negate the fact that he fits the profile of a faulse prophet.

Remember in the last days a leader is going to rise up and do awsome signs and miracles and then he will be glorified. You must evaluate the whole man, not just the parts you like.

I strongly disagree with your interpretation of the scriptures. From my perspective, Benny Hinn in no way fits the description of "false prophet."

See, it just depends on what you extrapolate (or your favorite teachers extrapolate) from the same passages of scripture. :)

Ezek 13:6 Their visions are false and their divinations a lie. They say, "The LORD declares," when the LORD has not sent them; yet they expect their words to be fulfilled.

07081 qecem {keh'-sem} divination, witchcraft, divine sentence

used in Ez 13:6

If the Lord Declares it will come to pass unless He says" If you change your ways THEN it will not come to pass."

If it has not come to pass on in that time that it is declared to come to pass it is not off the Lord.

It is a very easy verse to understand.

Deuteronomy 18:22
"When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him"

02087 zadown {zaw-done'} pride, presumptuously, proud

Used in Deut 18:22

Mark 7:22-23
22 thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. 23 All these evil things come from within and defile a man.”

Jer 14:14 Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.

07081 qecem {keh'-sem} divination, witchcraft, divine sentence

Ezek 13:2 [NIV] "Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who are now prophesying. Say to those who prophesy out of their own imagination: 'Hear the word of the LORD!
Ezek 13:3 This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!
Ezek 13:4 Your prophets, O Israel, are like jackals among ruins.
Ezek 13:5 You have not gone up to the breaks in the wall to repair it for the house of Israel so that it will stand firm in the battle on the day of the LORD.
Ezek 13:6 Their visions are false and their divinations a lie. They say, "The LORD declares," when the LORD has not sent them; yet they expect their words to be fulfilled.
Ezek 13:7 Have you not seen false visions and uttered lying divinations when you say, "The LORD declares," though I have not spoken?
Ezek 13:8 "'Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because of your false words and lying visions, I am against you, declares the Sovereign LORD.
Ezek 13:9 My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations. They will not belong to the council of my people or be listed in the records of the house of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign LORD.

Remember God calles divination an abomination and he equates false words in the name of teh Lord as divination [Deut 18:10-12]

07081 qecem {keh'-sem} divination, witchcraft, divine sentence
witchcraft and divination of a false prophet in Deut 18
also in Ez 13:6

07080 qacam {kaw-sam'} divine, diviners, use, divination, prudent, soothsayer

word used in Ez 13

We obviously have a strong difference of opinion. The only thing I could say is to recommend that you read some books or listen to some CDs by current prophets to better understand the prophetic in general.

I would recommend Secrets of the Prophetic by Kim Clement. Here's the blurb from his web site:

In Secrets of the Prophetic, Author Kim Clement shares from his many years of experience in demonstrating prophetic ministry, in the church and the marketplace, to show you how to enter the future that God has prepared for you. Kim answers questions such as: How can I really know if it is God's voice speaking to me? What can stop a prophecy from being fulfilled? How do I enter the promise God has given me? How can I become God's voice to others?

There are many other prophets whose prophetic words you can find at www.elijahlist.com. Such people as Todd Bentley, James W. Goll, Heidi Baker, and Chuck Pierce.

This web site is a treasure trove of the prophetic.

They also announce upcoming prophetic conferences (and many other kinds of conferences) in all parts of the world.

For example, coming up in Atlanta, Georgia, August 15-19, is the 15th annual apostles & prophets conference. Here's what the description says:

Life Center Ministries, in partnership with Healing Rooms, is bringing you one of the most important events you can attend this year. Come expecting to be activated, equipped and released to move in the miraculous.

You will be trained, activated, and launched to walk in miracles in your day-to-day life. In your business, in your health, in your relationships. This is NOT a "theory-only" event, but a hands-on, workshop-driven conference that will equip and empower you to walk in the miraculous!

yes i have studyied prophecy since i was young.

in the end God calls words that dont come to pass, divination. Thus i take the word of God over excuses or ' reasons it hasnt happened. That is why we are not to take the words He says lightly. We are to weigh with two or three witnesses the truth,, rather than spouting out into.

But if God proclaims, unless it is just a test to change, it has to come to pass or he has lied.

either way. Benny Hinn said things and dates.. those have not come to pass.

ps That was not my whole post you quoted.

That was unintentional. Something must have happened during editing. I think I meant to delete the whole quote and missed part of it. I wasn't responding to any of the specific scriptures or other elements of your post. :sorry:

Other books may be a good reference sometimes, but not for divine knowledge. I'll stick to the Bible, but thanks for the info.

He gave a word that didnt come to pass, doesnt mean he is a false prophet.
That could've been his immaturity in that area. Maybe he's grown since then, I hope so.
He might have walked off the stage and reallized all of that came out of the flesh, and repented.

These comments are what I'm referring too.
1. Right and if I lie that doesn't make me a liar, right?
2. Immaturity? Did you really mean that word?
3.If that came out of the flesh? Please refer to #1.

I am afraid many of you been deceived by Benny. If no one has seen it yet, please go to YouTube, and search 'Benny Hinn examined;'.

It is very important. For those of you who support Pastor Hinn, please don't stop the video once you see it. You are only strengthening your denial.

True, the Holy Spirit works in miraculous ways, but are Benny Hinn's miracles really 'miracles'? The Bible clearly warns us of false prophets and deceptive miracles. If you didn't know, at Benny Hinn's crusades, truly sick and disabled people are not allowed to go on stage. Only people that can show they are able-bodied are allowed on. If these are true "miracles", why not let the truly disabled be healed?

Benny Hinn constantly claims that God is speaking to him. He has constantly made prophecies, many of which have turned false. Any he responds simply as if he never made the prophecy, or he'll say that God changed His mind. Now does God change His mind?

Lastly, the number one thing that bothers me most is how Benny Hinn can intimidate fear into people who go against him. He has been seen on TV telling people that "...I will place a curse against anyone who goes against this ministry..." He tries to invoke fear in people like me, telling them that they are turning against God, that they will go to hell. Is that Benny Hinn's judgment? To spiritually curse people? To send them to hell?

Please think about my words, brothers and sisters.

I would not keep worrying about this.. but use your time instead to pray for people... pray for God to open our eyes and also bring the bad to light and the light to good.. If you don't agree with Benny... then pray for him!! Pray for God to do something.. talking about it won't solve anything.. If you are really that concerned.. PRAY!!

Seems pretty easy to answer the Hinn defenders who say look at his fruit.

God CAN use money grabbing televangelists to bring some to salvation, but those preachers may NOT wind up in heaven at the end.

Matthew 7:21-23 Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

As far as the evaluation of him being a false prophet, there can be no doubt. There is no wiggle room for error, nor for something blocking a "true" prophecy from really happening. As to the miracles, my heart breaks over those who are deceived and find out that when the Word was sown their direction it was snatched up (the first case in Matthew 13).

:prayer: Father, I lift Brother Benny up to You again today, in the Name of Jesus. I thank you for this wonderful gift to the whole body of Christ.

Prosper him today, Lord. Use him to bring even more to salvation, healing and deliverance. Keep the atmosphere around him charged with Your power and love.

Lord, send the warring angels out to do battle against the enemy on his behalf and the ministering angels to bring him what he has need of.

I plead the Blood of Jesus over him and his staff and crew and family as he does Your work all over the globe.

I declare Isaiah 41:10 over him.

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

And I thank You and praise You that the angels are going forth on his behalf right now.

In Jesus' mighty Name, Amen! :prayer:
