Benny Hinn is a man. God is a healer. He may use anyone He wishes as a conduit. However, I cannot and will not allow someone who is so in love with himself and who makes many theological mistakes in his teaching concern me. I have personally told Benny that when he loses his hair piece and quits puting on such a show He will have to answer to God for his focus on himself and his ministry and not God. There seems to be a fan club on this thread that follows this man and not God. However, I will leave him alone and not join in this charade.

I have read several pages of this thread and can't stomach any more. I am just so, so sorry that people are taken in by these kind of people. If you have five minutes spare, how about another example that the man is a liar:-

Search youtube for 'Benny Hinn a man was raised from the dead' and click the first result:-

00.23-00.25 'Saints, HE WAS DEAD'.

Search youtube 'Benny Hinn I would not do this for money' and check the first result again:-

2:10-2:20 of the video - (Watch the guys eyes when he's asked the question - can't look away quick enough, and then, the immortal words 'Er, I have no proof he was dead, that's what they told me'.

Now please, I don't need someone praying for me to drive out demons please - tell me,the comment in the first clip was a lie, right? Dress it up how you like, it was a lie. At the very least he was asserting something to be a fact that, it turns out, he could not prove.

There is another video on youtube where he talks about visiting a hospital in Africa years ago and healing everyone on the ward or something like that. The staff at the hospital confirmed it was utter nonsense.

There is another one featuring the now legendary 'Jesus will physically appear on the stage at my meeting' comment (guess what, He didn't - I wonder if it was just a bit of constipation that he 'felt in his spirit' rather than a prompting of the Lord).

An utter, utter scam artist and I pity anyone who sends a penny (or a dime across the pound) his way.

Not a prophet. Just profit - and the worst kind; preying on the sick, poor and desparate.

Why would the Lord 'burn the homosexual community of America' -another one of his failed prophecies??

I don't even know where to start, so I'll stop.

yet, his testimony echoes with his love for God and his delight in the Holy Spirit. He is but a man, with many many foibles...yet he loves God with a child-heart and consequently God uses him mightily.

His audiences, as they are singing worship songs with Benny Hinn, pour out their hearts in those songs, and as God tells us, He is in the midst of our praise and worship. In watching these videoes, even a few years later, the Holy Spirit is evident. My tears started streaming, along with the audience's tears, as we simultaneously expressed our love for God and adoration. The Holy Spirit ministered to me at a time i was desperately in need of Him, and i could not focus on God, and i was deeply in despair.

Love covers a multitude of sins.

Whether he is annointed or not, I know people get healed at some of his events.
Remember that thousands of believers attend his events. With God dwelling within thousands of believers contrasted with one questionable man, there is no reason God should not be in their midst.

I would be especially wary right now -- a few weeks ago he changed his tone, and is suddenly humble and covering all the bases people have been criticizing him for. He is asking for money in a nicer way, but has some debts that need covering. Keep God your source and guide, whether you watch Hinn or not.

yet, his testimony echoes with his love for God and his delight in the Holy Spirit.

It certainly echoes his love of money, the presidential suites of the world's finest hotels, has a track record of decades of lying and deception which are freely available in the public domain on youtube etc.

The latest debacle with him having checked into a hotel room with Paula White under a pseudonym whilst still married, well, words fail me. I see the most recent news is that he's now in trouble with a publisher for breaching a morality clause in a contract with them after admitting to them he'd had an 'inappropriate' relationship with Paula White.

My points is this - yes, we all fall far short, yes we all make mistakes. BUT when a person has a track record over decades of lying, deception, lavish living at the expense of desperate people who put money in buckets at his meetings, and now inappropriate relationships with other pastors whilst still married.... when you put these things together, surely then penny should drop???

Thanks Heron for that.

And still, they will flock to the likes of Hinn in their millions.

Another interesting point I've pondered; a lot of people say that even if Hinn et al are crooked, many people meet with God at their meetings. But I wonder if they are meeting the true God of the bible? That is a more important question. Are they meeting with the God of the bible or are they meeting with the skewed, blasphemic, self-serving view of God put forward by the likes of these scam artists?

I went to a Benny Hinn service in Dallas and was disappointed. He had a choir and they were good. I thought he would have a healing line and he didn't. Actually I think he talked very little about healing ???? Yet many said they were healed. I wouldn't argue about that. I was sitting up way high in the balcony and a family sat down beside me and proceeded to eat french fries, hot dogs, whatever. It was hard to pay attention to the preacher when kids were throwing popcorn over the seat at the people. I said something to the mother about eating in a church service and she said that she didn't think God would care. Burnt me up, I could not enjoy the service. I have never seen such irreverence before, and she said they were youth pastors at that. I was so happy to get out of there. I don't believe in selling food or anything else when the word of God is being preached. Pathetic.

Fellowship happens at the dinner table too...not supposed to be some performance by man is it?

I don't know what to think about Benny Hinn.
I've read a few of his books, and I must say they are great! Unless they are ghostwritten, it's hard to reconcile this Benny Hinn with the Benny Hinn I read about on the internet. There is nothing in his books that is contrary to the Word of God in the Bible.

I've never met him or watched him on TV so I can't really judge there. From what people are saying, he says some things that are off-base. I don't know if he ever claimed he was a prophet or could predict things or that was just his opinion or these are just rumours.

When christians are prominent and people see them jetting about and staying in hotels I wonder the people that accuse Benny Hinn of avarice are just jealous/covetous themselves. Are these people that accuse him christians or unbelievers?
As for the healings..that's God working not Benny Hinn. Maybe people are too quick to judge on his outward appearance.

The thing about Benny is, I believe, in his mind, he is very sincere about what he is doing. No matter how strange or even ridiculous at times his actions may appear to us, I think he truly believes in his heart that what he is doing is serving the Lord in a great way.

Forgive me for saying this...but I would still like to know a little more about what happened between he and his former wife Suzanne, though......

Benny Hinn, I would hate offend but he's clearly a man that is in denial about his own abilities. Its a money making scam.

Think about it, did Jesus or his disciples ask for money to heal and pray for others? NO! Financing a church is one thing, but a private jet? Come on! Jesus rode around a donkey and walked. He's the son of God. Wheres the humility? I have nothing against rich guys, but this is fishy behavior being showcased here and I'm not saying that because I'm a Calvinist.

It disturbs me how people practically worship the guy and place him as Christs equal, they believe that he will heal him. I'm sorry but that glory goes to God alone and here he is soaking it up. Don't rely on a man to spiritually heal you, go to Jesus and him only, only he can set you free. Unlike man, God doesn't disappoint.

hmm not sure. Here is what I think..I just like to say, as reading his books, I am touched by them and they have encouraged me in my walk with the Lord. And I'm quite discerning about the christian books I read.

When people malign Benny Hinn, they forget that most pastors ask for money in church sevices. I think most people know offerings are voluntary, that they go toward the upkeep of the ministry and the poor and you are NEVER obligated to give money to someone to ask for healing prayer.

As for jet setting. The Pope I'm sure goes around in private jets even his own pope mobile. Yet nobody gets healed in his presence. And people do crowd round and worship him, promoting his religion. That to me seems far worse.

Nobody worships Benny Hinn..in fact, most people hate him! All he does is demonstrate God's healing. And people need that. He doesn't promote a particular church. God is not going to heal everyone because he knows our hearts, what we're ready for and ultimately it's up to him.

So..do you go around riding on a donkey? Do you drive a car or take the bus all the time? What about the healings that happen through God's anointing on Benny Hinn? Are they counted as nothing? To be able to reach people I think he has no choice but to use a private jet in his ministry. To use a commercial airline would be like us taking the bus all the time to do a job that involves visiting people. What is more effective? A private jet or a public jet? When movie stars travel the world do they use a public ariline or public transport? No that would be a stupid idea. I'm not saying Benny Hinn is a movie star of any kind. But he has a mission that involves touring and reaching people and it clearly is not about exalting himself but Jesus Christ. And there ARE no doubt about it false faith healers around that are out for gain. But I do not think Benny Hinn is one of them.

What about other things that are money making scams? State television? The entertainment industry? The pharmaceutical drug industry? (Do actually heal people? When there's a miracle crusade, you may give an offering ONCE. If you are precribed drugs, you have to pay money all the time!). Amway?
Why don't people speak out against the entertainment industry!

It just seems the slander is a lot of hearsay, but FAR worse things go on in the world that we could be condemning, not people hearing the gospel through someone like Benny Hinn. And also we must look at ourselves. Are we spreading the gospel? Are we testifying? Are we praying our prayers in faith and comforting the sick? Are we asking for God for healing for the sick? Are we encouraging each other? If not then who is casting the first stone?

If Benny Hinn is not from God, he would have stopped operating a long time ago, just like Kathryn Kuhlman. The reason why he's still being used by God is because he still gives the glory to Him.

The reason why sometimes his miracles fail is because he hasn't repented. The coming upon of the Holy Spirit is conditional. The Bible instructs man to maintain himself (1 Peter 1:1-2, 22-23, James 4:8). Unless man is washed by the blood of Jesus, he cannot have part with Jesus (John 13:8).

Benny Hinn is a instrument being used by satan. There is on YouTube a fifth estae tape called "Do You Beleive In Miracles?" watch it there was hidden cameras brought in.. he is a lie. He is a false prophet and leading people astray. The reason he is still around is people are brain washed by his speaking just like another who came and mislead millions... Hitler!

I just watched the entire video.

Benny Hinn's supporters believe in GOD, not Benny Hinn. Have you read his testimony? His family was a different religion. When he became a Christian his family persecuted him. He suffered for his faith, yet stood his ground. He LOVES God. Have you read a book he wrote called "Good Morning Holy Spirit"? He's not perfect. who is? Mistakes will be made, sins may happen. NO ONE is beyond being imperfect. We are ALL but dust, including Benny Hinn. Benny Hinn points to GOD as HEALER, not himself.

The worship, the tears rolling down faces, is real. Those in the audience for the most part, are looking up, raising their hands, and worshipping GOD. They LOVE God. So does Benny Hinn. Where is God in the midst of the praise of those who love Him? He's right smack in the middle of them. Right THERE. And you bet'cha He can heal. And he does. Not because of Benny Hinn, but because that's Who God is, our Healer. God heals, yes, but at His own discretion and for His own purposes.

God's power, His love, His grace, His Spirit is evident in the midst of those who love Him. This includes those at Benny Hinn gatherings.

At 18:20 (approx) in the video, the lady with her daughter....when she said to her daughter "Jesus is up on the stage"......what??!! Think about it. Jesus is not up on a stage...but EVERYWHERE. Was she saying Benny Hinn is Jesus? WHAT was she telling her little girl?!! God help us! This is a distortion of the biggest kind. She left in tears, carrying her daughter.....

It's horrifying, however, the distortions of Who Jesus is, Who God is, and superstitions intermingled with these kinds of statements merely indicate how very dark the darkness is, that THAT person is steeped in. She should have NEVER said that to her daughter, even if she was thinking it.

God help us.
