Benny Hinn on Dateline Last Night

Thank you, furrysmommy, for posting this site. I just read Benny's 9 page letter to his partners responding to all the accusations Dateline reported. I must say that Benny addressed every concern I had and I feel ashamed for judging him. I tried not to, but it was hard not to get caught up in the moment. I'm not saying he's squeaky clean, but no one can deny that he's doing great things for the Lord. We are all capable of mistakes and poor judgment. I feel very relieved after reading his letter and give him the benefit of the doubt. I've never donated money to his ministry and don't plan to, unless the Lord leads me to do so.

I originally started this thread to open a dialogue and hear what others who had seen the segment on Dateline thought. I should have taken the time to visit Benny's site and hear his side of the story. I encourage all of you to check out this site.

Before God healed me and gave the word that i was being healed by none other than Benny Hinn, i used to wonder about him a lot if he was for God or not, because of the way he lays hands on people and they fall down, that is the only thing i used to question about him. But i hear you guys on this part of CF are used to this Anyways, after i was healed it made me look at people in a new light, i had to really examine what exactly Hinn was doing. I come to the conclusion that he is just who he says he is ---a servent of God, who is used by God. I've never actually saw him preach anything that is not biblical the times i have watched him. I would have to see a credible source before i would believe any of it, though, as there are a lot of rumors going around. I'm a very sceptical person.

Two things stuck out. First the two women with cancer who went up on stage claiming healing. Then they found out months later they still had cancer and died. Second was the thousands that left unhealed.

I don't think God intends to heal everyone.

Do you think that God needs televangelists and media to bring people to Him, or do you think He needs caring christians to build relationships with people to bring them to Him? Which do you think has long term affects?

If it were not for televangelists i would no doubt be a Wiccan, you would be surprised how many people are saved and watch televangelists.

Riverpastor, do you actually think that God is going to heal every single person at a huge meeting? Being it that i believe God can heal anything, i would be an excellent person to ask for prayer. Some people here are not realizing that God is doing the healing, not Benny Hinn, if God wants to heal someone they will be indeed healed.

Everything in God's kingdom has a purpose and a reason for being there. Though these parts are different and they all function differently, we cannot rule out that God is not using them to further His purpose and will on earth. Let these works speak for themselves.

Now, Iollain, please don't get all upset. I know it's not Hinn that does the healing. I'm just looking for people who believe and have faith for God to heal ALL.

If you are called on to pray for someone's healing, yet you are not sure if God's will is to heal them, then what EXACTLY are you having faith for?

1 John 5:14-15 - And we have an assured confidence that whenever we ask anything in accordance with His will, He listens to us. And since we know that He listens to us, then whatever we ask, we know that we have the things which we have asked from Him.​

Now, if you're not SURE, absolutely persuaded, with unwavering confidence, that the Lord Jesus Christ will heal me when you pray, then are you praying according to His will.

According to the scripture here, you have to be sure of the outcome (of His will) before you even pray.

If you ARE sure, then we have a promise through the scripture above that we WILL BE granted that which He hears.

Our faith is a key issue in what we receive from the Kingdom of the Father.

So, God heals sometimes.

How can you provide a CONFIDENT ASSURANCE that He will heal me if you pray believing that He MIGHT or MIGHT NOT?

We see HIS GRACE, He sees our faith.... Like that woman with the issue of blood, what she saw was the grace that Jesus has and went seeking for the grace, not looking at her own faith level, and when Jesus turned around and assured her of her healing, remember what He told her? "Your faith made you well!"

I have faith that He will heal, until they are a couple of hours dead, then i presume it was God's will that they go home. Apparently the two ladies that died from cancer were not ment to be healed as they are passed on. I would never give up on God's ability to heal.

If you see someone who has died in his/her sins without Jesus, say a devout Atheist and a blasphemer, who denied Jesus with his/her last breath, would you simply say that it was the Lord's will for them to die in their sins?

this thread has created and generated quite a bit of interest, to put it mildly.

if you will permit me...i would like to draw your attention to just a few issues relating to the discussion topic that is at hand ! please permit this liberty !

now someone on a previous page said and spoke these words " the bible does not present gain in negative light " or words to that effect anyway.

well what saith the scriptures ?? true or false ?? is the spirit of truth speaking, or is the spirit of error in operation trying to swerve us away from sound doctrine ??

let's for one moment forget about every body's opinion's, and let us look at some passages of scripture....forget that it's me ( amorosi speaking ) also

what saith the word of god ? ........which is indeed the bottom line, and the final authority for all, which incidently "supercedes" all self-opinionated talk and controversy !!

let god's word then be true: and every man a liar. ( it is impossible for god to lie )

let us suspend all judgements for now, and all dispersions regarding the " man" in question and if you will- - bear with me...just for a brief moment, let's take a look at some passages of scripture !!

jude verse 11 : " woe unto them ! for they have gone in the way of cain, and ran greedily after the error of balaam for reward
( the false prophet balaam pursued greed and wealth, and this was his undoing )

2 peter 2:14 " having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin: beguiling ( bewitching ) unstable souls: a heart they have exercised with ( covetous ) practises; cursed children" ( covetous denotes greed )
v 15 " which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray , following the way of balaam ( their is that name again mentioned ) the son of bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; but was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb donkkey speaking with man's voice forbad the
madness of the prophet ! ( he was a prophet, but he went astray )

okay just a few more verses if you could but just bear with me everyone

2nd peter 2 :3 " and through covetousness shall they ( the preacher's )
with feigned words ( here are some discriptions from webster's on-line dictionary of the use of the word feigned ) feigned sympathy, bogus, coloured, embellished, pseudo, sham, put-on, phony, hypocritical, dressed -up, counterfeit, not genuine.........a person who feigns basically " pretends" it is false garbled, factitious words designed to scam it's listener's.
okay the rest of that verse then says this " they shall make merchandise of you " which denotes exploitation, and gain by fraudulant means......means which is unacceptable by a holy, righteous god !!!!!!!

hebrews 13:5 " let your conversation ( words, lifestyle ) be with-out coveteousness; and be always content with what you currently possess.

i won't quote the verses but for those who are still bearing with me
read james chaper two.....for more balance and enlightenment on the rich vs the poor !!

1 timothy 6 :5 extremely powerful, and authoratative passage of scripture " perverse disputing's of men of corrupt minds, and destitute
of the truth. supposing ( presuming, the i think syndrome ) that gain is god-likeness: here is the admonition ........from such turn away ( with-draw yourself, and have no association with such that espouse prosperity- automatically equates to god's approval and sanction,and blessing )

but to the contrary godlikeness with contentment is actually great gain !
for indeed the love of money is the very root of all kind's of evil's, which the while some have pursued and coveted after , have actually pierced themselves through, with many heart-aches !! and have erred ( gone astray ) from the faith !!

thanks to anyone that has beared with me....thus far...just one final concluding thought if i may !

whilst some evangelist's and minister's live in the lap of luxury, never knowing what it is to miss a single meal....it is interesting that our very own lord jesus christ, who incidently created and owns this very planet we all dwell on, often had no where to lay his head, was oft times forced to sleep outside and contend with the elements and weather patterns,
this same jesus oft times, only appeared to have the one set of clothes "change " !!

and what then is the irony...in light of the money grabbing, money hungry, power hungry minister's of today ?? the irony is simply this he owns it all, the cattle on a thousand hills, yet he chose to deny the comforts and luxuries of this world, so that we would have a place prepared were neither thieves, nor moths, nor rust, can corrupt or destroy !!

set your affections on things above, not on the things of this earth !!
for where your treasure is; there will be your heart also !!
