I guess, from reading the Apostles writings, he faced the reality that corruption in ministry was an insoluble problem and was resigned that, while it is certainly not the best way to get the gospel to a skeptical world, at least the gospel was getting to them. Still, throughout his writings, Paul demands integrity among ministers (1 Tim. 3.1.7; Titus 1.6-9).

Just because you like a person and think he is wonderful does not make him right. I see nothing in the Scriptures that even describe someone like him. I see no evidence of the Apostles running around asking people for huge amounts of money or living any kind of lavish lifestyle. All they had was the clothes on their back and a staff with no money and they depended on their followers to give them bread. His ministry does not add up at on and I do not buy into the theory that the deciples lived the way they did so they could preach the prosperity gospel and we all would then have what they did not. Hogwash. What is good for the early deciples is good for us and the only ones running around with lavish lifestyles are the TV evangelist and the rest of us are blessed to have food on our table and a place to live and praise God for that. Fat Eagle. But I do not blame you for you do not understand yet but one day you will see the light.

I am pretty nuetral about Benny Hinn, but I am passionate about believing anything we see on television. It is all staged and/or edited to make whatever point the producer wants to make, and their is nothing anyone else can do about it. If they wanted to rake Billy Graham over the coals he'd be the most evil person to ever walk the face of the Earth on the program, and it would seem credible. They would carefully edit some encounter at a bad time to make him look aloof, and evasive. If they couldn't find some discrepency in his books they would create it, and put the burden on him to prove them to be liars, in a secular court. Don't get me started on "hidden cameras." Have any of you ever seen a broadcast quality camera? Even stripped down you aren't going to hide it anywhere.

Why do Christians believe one word that comes from the Accuser of the Bretheren? Make no mistake, NBC news is an accuser of the bretheren, and in league with the Accuser.

So just because someone "freaks you out" makes them wrong? People has come to visit my church before and just because the presence of the Lord is welcomed. And allowed to move as He pleases. Our pastor was told by those visiters that our church was "erie" and they will not be back.

So does that mean that you would decide we are wrong just because our service is "erie" or you get "freaked out"?

I'm sorry, but that's just wrong. The world and even most of those who call themselves the church will always misunderstand someone who is so sold out to the Lord that they don't care what others think. If you worry what others think you will never do anything at all, and starve to death for fear of appearing evil to someone. I know about it. I disobeyed God to try to avoid the appearence of evil. The KJV is the only translation that I know of that tells us to avoid the appearence of evil, and that is contrary to the rest of scripture. Even the KJV says that we are to please God, and that He doesn't look to appearences. So you are slamming Benny Hinn for not trying to please man.

You know another way to look at putting one's own name on a ministry is accountability. If my name is on the organization it's my reputation that is on the line. I used to work for a mom and pop store and I made a mistake that we didn't catch until the customer had the merchandise. It was the boss's reputation that suffered, not mine.

I can't believe that we are actually squabling over someone having a picture in their book. I like to see what the author looks like. It doesn't make me worship him. I just helps to give me a connection.

my opinion of people like benny hinns and all the other tv evangalists is that they are making lots of money out of peoples lost faith and they are gullible enough to believe these people have special permission from god to heal them all they want is your money they all should be banned from tv

Well, apparently I am reading different parts of the Bible, Jiminpa. It is not a matter of being sold out; it is a matter of integrity. Every public ministry MUST care what the public thinks. To ignore them is arrogance.

According to what I find (examples below), integrity is a shield for the believer. Billy Graham (God bless him), is an example of how high-profile ministries can and should be handled with integrity and how, when they are, they avoid the broadsides those who do not operate with integrity get (on a recurring bais). Grahams integrity has, as the Bible says, protected, upheld, secured, guided and guarded him. It will do the same for any televangelist. But deceit and fraud will bring them down.

As for BH, I guess we will have to wait and see.

Yes, eventually the righteous will be vindicated, but not necessarily in our time frame. 2,000 years and people still mischaracterize Jesus. The Jewish leaders had Jesus killed for clarifying the scripture they proported to believe. The prophets were killed for upholding the scriptures, and speaking out the words God gave them. Did their integrity protect them? Yes, but not in human terms or in this lifetime.

Jesus said the world will hate us, just as they hated Him. The media slander machine doesn't need real corruption to destroy someone's credibility. They create corruption. It's just makes it easier if they don't have to manufacture it. So the Accuser hates Benny Hinn. I'm not here to defend Benny Hinn I am here to point out that Dateline lies, and anyone using them to continue to pass their lies against a Christian is a gossip and according to scripture has no place in God's kingdom. If you want to gossip about the man, and work for the Enemy you better check your own heart, because you may not have the standing with God you think you do. Scripture says that not me.

I am not saying that all, what I am saying is that our responsibility lies with God and God alone, that goes for Hinn too! No one is exempt! We can't get caught up in these things like the world does. I don't know who Popoff is and I'm barely familiar with Jim Bakker, I am talking about God's way of bringing His word to His people and if we do it in the name of Jesus and it is not for Christ, God knows how to handle that. We don't need to do anything but watch the Father work and do what HE TOLD US TO DO according to His word. There are false prophets and teachers all around us and if we don't know who we are, we won't know them when we see them. It takes a person born of the Father to know Him when you see Him. Hinn is no different, if he is wrong, Daddy got that on lock.

It takes discernment of the spirit to know that not all on TV are for the Father, but not all are against Him either. You must study to show yourself approved so that if what you see and hear does not line up with the word, you are covered. But I hear ya!

So then in other words according to you all those people that can not get to church and depends on the tv evangilists have no right to hear the gospel. :o

Sure, shut-ins and unchurched people have a right to hear the gospel and that is the wonder of TV. It could a more powerful instrument for good than it is now. But shut-ins do not have a right to be preyed upon or defrauded. That is why I wish Christian TV would clean up its act and become something more than a religious fundraising machine.

Yes I do live like te Apostles Celion. I am poor as a church mouse but I praise God anyhow for all I need is his love and mercy, and he has always provided our needs but hardly ever our wants!!!!!

You are young yet and you have a lot to learn and all I say to you is not blindly believe everything you see and hear just because it looks good and feels right especially in the Full Gospel groups for there is a whole lot of false stuff going on out there. Funny you would say this about Billy Graham and the press. I do not think I have ever heard anything but respect for him from the press and that is because he has always lived above board and held the Lord high.
The press has dug up the dirt on some of these TV evangelist and righly so for some have betrayed us christians and the Word by the shananigans they have pulled. It is a shame that the press had to do this for christians should clean their own house but I guess God can use the world to bring down those that need to be brought down. He did with the Jews and he does with Christians.

You know what mickd the thing is Ive been raised in the televangelist realm and i know what goes on. I know whose stealing your money and whose not. I know the "real" christians from the "snake oil salesman" as you so call them. I may be young but ive also had to grow up. I know you dont always do what feels good...it feels good to be with a guy but you dont do such a thing until your married etc. I had to grow up because my mother has always hated me...then she died. I had to grow up when dad remarried. I love my stepmother but its hard. God has called me to do so much and i just want to be a lawyer. Yes thats selfish , therefore im going to have to suck it up and do what God says. I love him more than anything...even my own dreams. Youre right , all of you. There are some really bad people in the televangelist world...I mean some nasty people. But there are some wonderful people who put God before everything. Just all i ask is if you think Bennys bad...pray for him. If you like him thank you.
