Don't talk to me about something being "ill-proportional" in the context of a thread about an Israeli military offensive that has cost an estimated 5,000+ lives in response to a terrorist attack that cost an estimated 1,400+ lives in Israel. That's just ghoulish. Both numbers are absolutely unacceptable, as is the loss of every single life in this conflict, but unless you somehow think that Israeli lives are just naturally worth over 3.5 times Palestinian lives for some reason, then there's no possible way that you can call the Israeli response to the Hamas terrorist attack anything but massively "ill-proportional". I suspect that that's the entire point of the OP (that what Israeli is doing right now will yield a future of far more terrorism and death for the Israelis), so to bring this concept of proportionality up at all this late in the thread as a supporter of Israel is not encouraging, because it seems like you have missed the point of what we're even talking about here.

Yes but some casualties clearly occurred next to the rubble too and per the standard applied to the casualties from the attack that spurred the invasion that clearly means nothing actionable took place and everyone should pipe down.

Also, Joseph, Hamas seems to be reporting injuries as deaths. Is there any source you can find that distinguishes "casualties" from deaths over there in Palestine? I haven't been able to find that, which leads me to believe that Hamas is considering all casualties as "deaths" to inflate numbers.... Unless we can find something that proves they're recording both casualties and deaths seperately separately.

Another issue with your source, was that it only included "civilian" casualties/ deaths, and not totals that include soldiers.

Do you know many victims of building collapse don't die painlessly/instantly? Many would remain alive in agony for a few more days. The worst fate of those trapped alive under the rubble is being eaten alive by rats. I think that's worse than getting beheaded or burned alive.
