Doesn't all the shipping drive you nuts? I've wondered that about power sellers, especially with small objects. Of course, recently the USPS started a package pickup service (uh oh, now I'm advertising).

I'm in the web industry like a few people in this topic. We do Website hosting and design. Started as a home business but we have expanded enough to move into an office. Theres been a few struggle in the line, mainly due to my age... But apart from that, things have been a breeze.

I own and run a photography business hee in Central Florida. We have a studio and gallery,and I shoot onsite quite a bit. I shoot mainly weddings, but also high school seniors, model portfolios, engagement sessions, kids. We also shoot some commercial product images and magazine cover work.

While my company was not created to serve the Christian community, I do get to fellowship with some really neat people.

We struggle like anyone else. Frankly, running your own business can be very demanding, and expensive if you aren't careful. The advertising expenses, computer upgrades, software purchases, equipment purchases, and dealing with clients can be very taxing.


I wouldn't change it for anything in the world, though. I really enjoy my job.

We grow up with the reward system of school, that the more work you do, the more gain you see. This isn't always true in business.

If anyone is thinking of taking on employees, think it through first. Employees bring a huge list of risks: equipment damage, lawsuits, OSHA, additional paperwork and deadlines, prepaid insurances, lost keys, health benefits, HR law compliance, ex-employees raising your unemployment insurance, and on and on.

I have two businesses. One is a service business and the other is a specialty advertising and promotional products business.

I started both from scratch.

If I cannot witness to my clients I will ask them what is one of the main problems they have in their business. I then explain that our companies pray for our clients. One so they can continue to prosper and secondly so they can resolve their problem.

You would be surprised how many people respond favorably when you are willing to pray for their success and over coming their problems.

When you put others first, instead of the bottomline, God will bless your business.

Bear in mind I never use to think like this. But the Master corrected this slave. Thank you for changing my attitude Lord.

By so doing, we earn their trust and confidence. When you earn the trust and confidence of a client or customer, he recommends you to many people and you prosper.

You not only prosper, you could win a soul for Christ who will reward you abundantly.This is not to say there are no challenges. The challenges usually arise when you see those cutting corners prospering and you are not. You might be tempted to do likewise. But I advise you don't compromise because the bible asks us not to worry when we see the unrightous prosper, because it's only for a while. For us even the wealth of the unrighteous shall become ours.

Does anyone run a business that doesnt have a Christian focussed product attached?

I sell gifts that don't say Christian on them,but the name of my business kinda gives it away! I sell things like floral wreaths,garlands,swags,kissing balls,soy-candles,aromatherapy bath/beauty,bearington bears,pet portraits,and I have been blessed by God who has been my only teacher,so I gave it the name...Heart of Heaven Gifts,for I wanted to honor God in all I do and I put my heart into everything I do,hopefully shows .
I am now trying to put a page up for donations for mostly local charities and focused on children who are negected or abused and senior citizens that need help in surviving these cold winters in NYS.I also have done the website myself,which can only say........I am slowly figuring things out.not very easy but nothing is impossible! I try to look at the pages as I would a portrait,but time consuming it is! I really don't like this part but cant afford a designer,and I feel like I should learn it anyways.Check it out,and if your honest.....and see flaws... please be nice!!! This is a neat site. Just found it and thought I'd reply.

I started my computer business in 1996. I did it with no investment. I was in college at the time and it was better than wasting my time there.
I have branched out since then. I added another part to cut down on driving less than 2 years ago. It is a remote management setup like PC Anywhere, but it works better.
I also have a private franchising business that is my long term focus and ministry.
If that is not enough I had another great idea that I am pursuing. This one has been tricky. I'm not quite sure how to proceed. But I know that producing a computer that is the absolute highest quality must have a market. The manufacturers, whose products I'd like to use, have not been very forth coming in loaning me their components to test. Well, hopefully, my mentor will have some good advice for me when I meet with him.

I am an architect by profession but a business man by choice. in partnership with some friends("non-christian" but not "non-spiritual"), we run a group which has got interestes in various service sectors including architectue, construction, electronics, home automation, security systems, educational packaegs etc.
We are just a start up but hope to get to full swing soon. And we have made it clear never to MIX

We sell Life, Health, Medical Discount, Critical Illness, Accident Policies.

It's me and 4 other agents that work for me.

Plus, the Secetary, etc.

The business has been around for 2 years now.
