  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I saw the movie and it was great. Ther is suppose to be 2 sequels that they are working on now. :amen:

The big rumor is they have the Joker for the 2nd one and Two Face for the 3rd one. I don't care who they put in them as long as they're as good as this one. I remember the quality difference (in my opinion) between Spiderman and Spiderman 2. Spiderman was a great movie but Spiderman 2 was just AWESOME. There were good audience reactions for the first one but the second had us all eating out of the palm of it's hand. I have every confidence that the crew behind this Batman series is going to have no problem equaling the brilliance of Spiderman 2 and maybe surpassing it.

I agree about the Spiderman 2 comment.

I was somewhat annoyed by Peter's sudden Spidey Impotence (inability to produce web), but that subway train scene was just.... oh man... I think I shed a few tears in the theater.

Heck, why not bring Joker back instead of killing him at the end? If he's played well, I think that would be best.

And in the third, they could have him team up with Catwoman, the Penguin, and the Riddler in a plot to dehydrate the UN, using Penguin's submarine . . .

I remember watching that scene from Spidey 2 with my friends. Wow, it hit us so hard emotionally. Something about the sacrifice in that scene and Tobey Maguire's performance. Then when they brought him in and that guy was like "he's nobody...can't be much older than my kid" that was so Spiderman to me. Great actors in that scene, I love the guy who comforts Peter when he realizes his mask is gone. And those two little kids who bring Peter his mask are actually Tobey Maguire's brothers, heard that listening to commentary.

But yes, back to Batman Begins...

Probably going to see it again when I see Fantastic Four. It's going to be kind of an all day comic book show.

I've only seen one other of the Batman films (which I didn't really enjoy)...but I loved Batman Begins! But a question...do the bad guys from this film go on to become the villians in the other films? Because it really bugged me that none of them really got what was coming to them (other than the guy who was head of the Wayne Corp. or whatever).

You mean do the thugs become super villians? No, not at all. Just about all supervillians in the Batman universe started off as normal, if not misunderstood, members of society. I like one line from a Batman show that explained it.

"You know the difference between the freaks and the norms? One bad day." That pretty much covers it. :D

Also, oddly enough, alot of the villians, before they became villians, worked at Wayne Enterprises.

Personally I thought the film left it nicely open to make the films come out like the james bond ones used to, say every couple of years? There are more than enough badies around. Which villain would people most like to see in

"Batman Begins Again"

I'd go for Clayface!
