If they can handle Lord of the Rings, they can handle this. If not, it may be too much for them.birdfriend said:What do you think? Should I take my 7 and 9 year old grand kids to this movie? They are coming to visit us this weekend and it is on at the local theatre. Would it be too mature or dark for them to grasp or would they like it? They are both pretty smart kids and not easily scared. I would like to take them, but not sure if I should. I will also clear it with their parents.![]()
But even in the Animated Series, Batman sounded darker than Bruce Wayne. I liked how he did the voice - outside of Clint Eastwood, I haven't seen such darkness and intensity done well. It was perfect for Batman.Redguard said:The fact that Batman has to have a different voice than Bruce Wayne is a given...
I'm just saying that the "Batman" voice was off of what I was expecting. He kinda sounded like a monster...
Maybe I'm just too used to the Batman voice that get's used in Batman: The Animated Series and Justice League.
No, he was supposed to look like a younger Christian Bale. I don't think we need to see Robin for a good, long time.Zeakio said:One thing that my friends picked up though, was do you think the little boy in the movie will end up being Robin? I doubt it, because it doesn't follow with the other story line, but I don't think it has to now that Batman has begun again?

Jenster said:I really loved the movie, from Bruce Wayne grappling with his fears to the action-packed ending. Christian Bale has a lot of charisma as the billionaire, and sufficient darkness as the Dark Knight. It's given me a bunch to think about regarding my real-life fears and how Christ would have me handle them.
**SPOILER** The only thing I didn't quite believe was the end part where Rachel says she knows they can't be together becauase he has to wear a "mask" until all of Gotham is saved. It seemed a little too pat, too neat. Not terribly dramatic or believeable, especially after JUST she came on to him.

According to some news sites, the contenders rumored for Joker in the sequel to Batman Begins are:
Sean Penn (Mystic River)
Paul Bettany (Master and Commander)
Crispin Glover (Willard)
Lachy Hulme (The Matrix Revolutions)
Yeah, she was being smart but she was also being dumb. I mean she knows how bad Gotham is more than anybody, does she seriously think that in a few years Gotham will turn right-side up again? Not to say that she'd realistically wait for the rest of her life in futility, but given everything else presented about her I thought she'd be smarter than that.TheBatman said:I understand what you mean. IMHO though, I kinda understand what she was saying. I think there was some truth in the fact that Bruce had changed a great deal and that it would be kinda selfish for her to "steal" Batman away from Gotham. But I kinda agree with you, the execution of her speech seemed kinda off to me too, like it was to neat and just...snap of a finger she's done, no biggie. A kiss and then that's it.
True, but I don't think anyone could take him seriously as the actual actor unless they replaced his face, well, completely.Nightwing said:Hamill's Joker definitely tops Nicholson, even though Hamill only did the voice. He was much more psychotic and menacing.

Although I think Kevin Bacon would make a great Joker.
