The article does not claim that all Muslims are terrorists. If you can find something in the article that isn't true I think that would be better than to demand that the thread be closed regardless of if it's the truth or not. And the same so-called "academics" get Catholicism wrong.
We all know why you set up this thread.

Do the decent thing and close it now...

You are proving my point that the only way to argue against the article is to use the ad hominem. If I were "Islamophobic" would I have said that we should try to work with Iran to fight against ISIS? And would I have consistently defended Syria's President Assad?

Fine. Let's say all that's true. The question still remains, what have they said that's wrong?

It doesn't matter if the article is factually right if it comes from a hate site. If someone linked to an article on Stormfront about how to make the perfect apple pie, it would still be wrong to post the article when there are much better sites that present the same information, sans the hate.

Because Iran and Syria's President Assad are Muslims. And if I were "Islamophobic" I'd be afraid of all Muslims, right?

Not necessarily at all, as you well know.

Now do the right thing and close thise Muslim hating thread please...

Why would it be wrong to post a recipe, just because you disagree with the source?

Because it's a violation of this site's rules to link to a hate site. I don't know if the site in the OP would be categorized as such by this site as I've never encountered it before. However, my Stormfront example is valid. If you link to any part of Stormfront, you will receive a violation if someone reports it.

What you've done is a very common tactic. It's commonly called "poisoning the well". You can't refute what they say, so you just demonize them and make them the bad guy so that the ignorant will not listen to them and judge for themselves.

Careful with those flames.

But the fact remains that you cannot refute anything they've said.

I haven't tried to refute anything they've said. If what they say is legitimate, then there will better sources from which to link the information.

What part of what is said in the article is hate? Can you provide an example?

How is Jihad Watch a hate site?

The SPLC says they are a hate site.

Pointing out that someone engages in a logical fallacy is not flaming.

"You" statements can get quite close to flaming since they address the poster and not the post. "You are poisoning the well" vs "You're statement is a fallacy called "poisoning the well"" One addresses the poster, the other address the content of the post.

I know. That's what I just said. You can't refute them so you demonize them, instead.

And like I said, I haven't refuted them because I don't know if there is anything to refute. I'm specifically objecting to the website itself, not the information contained in the OP article.

I didn't expect you to close it but just thought I'd try and make yu see how muslim hating threads like this have no place in OBOB...
The way that my mind works is I need evidence for a claim that is given. If this thread gets closed just because of a claim of it being "hate" and without anything to back up that claim it will convince me even more that what is in the article is the truth. If the website's stated purpose was to convince people to kill or to hate Muslims, then I would agree that it is a hateful website. But I haven't seen any evidence of that.

The SPLC says they are a hate site.

The SPLC labels anyone who disagrees with them to be a hate site.

I'm part of three groups they've labeled hate groups and I can tell you from first hand experience that none of them have anything whatsoever to do with hate and that, in one of them, one of our officers is black and two are Hispanic. So, who they think we hate, I have no idea.

In any event, I came here through the "new posts" tab and didn't realize I was on the OBOB forum so I'm leaving, since I'm not Catholic.

Even though I've deleted my previous posts, I'll go and await my infraction for unwittingly stumbling into the wrong forum.

For what it's worth, I don't think you intended to link to a hate site. I think you found an article that you agreed with and share it with the rest of us. We all do that sort of thing. What bothers me is that people are continuing to defend the website, rather than seeking to find out if it is indeed a hate site.

This is the OBOB General Politics Forum. Non Catholics can debate here as long as they don't argue against the Catholic Church. Even if that were not so, I would not report your post because I'm a big enough man not to report someone I'm debating with.

I'm not going to read a single word from that despicable site Jihad Watch.

Sure there are issues in the Muslim world, no doubt about that. However Robert Spencer is a dangerous figure who causes social divisions. That's why the UK had to ban him from traveling there, it would put too much of a strain on national security.

They are a left-wing partisan organization which also listed the conservative Family Research Council as a "hate group."

What about the Anti-Defamation League? They also call it a hate site.

Instead of just criticizing the source of the article, got anything better? And BTW, what part of what LivingWordUnity posted is not true? Was there NOT a Battle of Badr? Do the Muslims NOT practice Taqiyya and is it NOT religious deception? (Seems to me that what was stated is very much like the left's "the ends justifies the means" and we KNOW that concept isn't very Christian.) And do the Muslims NOT practice the doctrine of Aborgation? Do they NOT practice Sharia Law? Stoning and "honor killing" is NOT part of it? Is Ramadan NOT a fast? Does Zakat exist? Is the pilgrimage that each Muslim is supposed to take to Mecca called Hajj? And since the news speaks of ISIS requiring Christians to pay Dhimmni (tax for being a non-Muslim), is the article WRONG concerning what Dhimmni is?

Good point. I'm amazed that Robert Spencer is so criticized here. I guess that is what happens when you point out the facts about a group that people don't want to offend.
