The biggest issue I have with sites like jihadwatch is that those same tactics can be and have been used against us. The Bible and ECF statements are full of what appear to be direct contradictions. There are people who exploit these to discredit us. With patient study, of course, we learn that these statements are often (always?) less absurd than they might originally seem. I suspect that's the case with Islam too. That doesn't mean I think Islam is true or right or an authentic path to pleasing our Lord, but I do think we have to be careful about /how/ we criticize other's books. There is so much text in our faith that has been exploited by dishonest people to harm Christ's Church that I don't want anything to do with those methods.

Just because it has been used against you doesn't make it invalid or untrue in regards to Islam. I have read things from ex-Muslims and also had a talk with an Indonesian Orthodox priest who was a convert from Islam. He verified questions I asked him privately about martyrs getting not just 72 virgins but also "pearl-like boys" for their sexual pleasure in heaven, which he said was true. He was not an enemy of Islam, he felt like it had led him to Christ, (although of course he was at risk for his life being an apostate and all) , and he said he didn't like to bring things like that up in public, because it made Islam look bad. (No kidding!)

Anyway...I notice that you are very quick to condemn Spencer or anyone the SPLC says is a hate group (with virtually no evidence I might add), so you are not really consistent with your lack of condemnation...

Just sayin.

As you can see it clearly states that you are to treat all members with respect and courtesty through civil dialogue. You are to refrain from making any insulting, inflammatory and or goading remarks. If you find that you disagree with a members post you are to address the CONTENT of the post NOT the poster personally. There was a lot of that going on in the posts I removed.

If you are not sure of what a member is saying ask them to clarify. If you feel you are being Flamed report the post and do not reply to it. Allow staff to handle the situation.

I was about to point out the same observation. Why is it okay in our PC culture to criticize and even condemn many kinds of groups and people, but when it comes to Islam then suddenly people are accused of hate by mere criticism of it?

The SPLC is a respected group that exists to expose hate groups. They profile hate groups and such of the right and left sides of the political spectrum. Me Spencer exists only to profit off of spreading fear about Islam - that he has written the same basic book about 30 times, retitled, is evidence of that.

It's already been shown that SPLC is pushing a left-wing agenda. And I'm still waiting for someone to criticize what Mr. Spencer has actually said instead of repeating the same cheap personal attacks on his character over and over again.
