I went this morning~~I'm still processing what happened; I can see that in someways it is not what I expected...not rushed like the Catholic Masses I've attended, a different flavor all together~maybe I'll do a "first DL" thread in the main section.

Hi, MrJim

Here's my conversion story (such as it was 6 years ago :)). I grew up in the SBC, but my sons were grown by the time I came into Orthodoxy, so I can't really answer your questions about bringing kids into the Church, but just from observation of other families in our parish, it seems the kids - of all ages - are usually drawn in by the Liturgy and worship. Little ones like the freedom of moving around, they like the candles and incense and vestments and Icons - a feast for the senses. Older ones seem to understand that there is something deeper going on here - there's a holiness and "otherness" and they realize it isn't about them.

My husband is still content to remain in his Anglican parish, but he's also content with me being Orthodox, and he attends with me occasionally - always at Pascha, and he usually comes to picnics and such.
