Baptism

I was baptized today! I originally got baptized when I was ten years old because everyone told me that was what I had to do to not go to hell. Of course, I didn't want to hang out with the devil (who would!!!?) so I got baptized then. Now, however, I knew what I was doing and I'm SO happy to finally have announced publicly that I follow the Lord Jesus! I just wanted to share that with all my friends here in the singles group. <3

Praise God, I am happy for you. This is a big step in a believers life. In my church we practice infant baptism but it means something different then the baptism most other churches do. What you experienced is similar to my profession of faith. I had to get up in front of the whole congreation and profess before all of them that I beleived that Jesus Christ was my personal savior. It was an exciting day for me as well. My baptism happened before I could remember, obviously I was an infant at the time .In my church baptism means that I will be raised in a christian environment by my parents. It is more a pledge for the parents and congregation to lead whatever child is being baptized in a christian manner. Very similar to what the Catholics do but I am not catholic. Anyway I am glad you took this first step.
