• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together.   • Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private.   • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I just woke up from a bad dream. My chest was tight. I was anxious and this time I think it set my OCD off. I was rebuking the devil in my dreams and they couldn't stand the name Jesus. But it kept getting weirder and weirder and now I'm just trying to let it slide and not give it any validity. When I sin I get these type's of dreams so the devil is working over time to make sure I'm not happy.

If I gave some of the dreams that I have validity I'd be a wreck. Expect that dreams can be bizarre, haunting, frightening etc. and that when we're upset about something our mind may somehow incorporate it into a dream in a weird and bizarre way. You're right - don't pay it any heed whatsoever. Just say... "man that was a weird sleep journey" and then let it go.

I had the funniest dream this morning. I woke up laughing. I knew it was from God because it left me so much joy. It's really hard to not give it validity. I have been that way almost my whole Born again life. I know some dreams are correction dreams like they calibrate me when I wake up. I ask myself what did I do to get a dream of the lake of fire. Well if I'm dealing with lust and give in that opens a doorway for satan and also God opens His door to allow my suffering to continue. It has a pattern and I see it. Went to a NA meeting today. Was very surprised by the ppl's dedication to stay off drugs. Me and pain killers are like two atoms running in to each other. It's always destructive. I have to stay away from so called friends and also I can't go to my grandparents house because the temptation of it all is to strong. It has power over me.

Dabro, I see you're still going through some tough times, and I say this openly.

God and hope will always be there, we all have some struggles that can be beaten but will take some time. Our human selfs want all these things to be over, but it takes time.

I hope you know that God is in control, and that you keep on fighting until that one day comes. God bless you.
