Romans 8:35-39

New International Version (NIV)

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,b[/URL]] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord"

We do not, and will not fear death, demons, or loss of our salvation. We are already sealed and adopted as sons/daughters. Who/what could possibly be successful in robbing us of staying His sons and daughters? The scriptures say no one and nothing. He who has ears let him hear the Word of the Lord. Satan wants us to fear him. I and my brothers and sisters will not fear him, for our Lord is our champion and savior, and He has defeated satan already. Do not preach fear of satan on this forum. There are young vulnerable people here who don't know that they are sealed and saved forever.

Isaiah 63:10
Yet they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit. So he turned and became their enemy and he himself fought against them.

Matthew 12
31 And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

Ephesians 4:30
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

And this isn't preaching fear of Satan. I don't fear Satan myself. He's a formidable adversary though and since there are vulnerable young people on these boards, I think it best they all be made aware of this very real opponent. This is not preaching fear of Satan, but awareness of Satan. Those are two different things. No Christian in his/her right mind (especially babies in Christ) should ever want Satan or demons making house visits.

amen. I have had many attacks like this but I no longer fear these things. My God has all power and we have authority in His name. There is nothing to fear. We should only fear God in the right way.

Good witness to others.

To others; Sometimes if we are having alot of bad dreams, there is usually something in our waking life that isn't quite right or something that is worrying us. It is a good idea when that happens to ask the Holy Spirit to show you what the root cause is.

Pslam 4
Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God.
Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer.

Know that the Lord has set apart his faithful servant for himself;
the Lord hears when I call to him.

4 Tremble and do not sin;when you are on your beds,
search your hearts and be silent.
5 Offer the sacrifices of the righteous and trust in the Lord.

6 Many, Lord, are asking, “Who will bring us prosperity?”
Let the light of your face shine on us.
7 Fill my heart with joy when their grain and new wine abound.

8 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord,
make me dwell in safety.

The Holy Spirit can be RESISTED.
Acts 7:51 Ye stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.
The Holy Spirit can be QUENCHED.
1Th 5:19 Quench not the Spirit.
The Holy Spirit can be GREIVED.
Eph 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
What kind of things grieves the Holy Spirit? Read the next verse…
Vs. 31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
The Holy Spirit can be QUIETED.
Zech 6:8 Then cried he upon me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.
How can one “quiet” the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit is a gentleman. He will never force Himself upon you. If you continually resist Him, or “say” that you don’t want to hear what He has to say… He will back off and be quiet where you are concerned.
The Holy Spirit can be INSULTED.
Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite (Greek: to insult) the Spirit of grace?
And finally…
The Holy Spirit can be BLASPHEMED.
Which brings us to our scripture. But before we continue, I want to recap that the Holy Spirit can be: Resisted, Quenched, Grieved, Quieted and Insulted – None of these are Blasphemy! This has been part of the problem. People (all too often Pastors) have wadded all of these things together with blaspheming the Holy Spirit. Others have for the sake of emphasis, thrown a few additional real or imagined sins into the mix as well. And this has destroyed the lives of many an otherwise stable Christian.

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is both deliberatly renouncing Him and denouncing His true character publically and in your heart.

P.S. If you want to discuss theology, there is a whole section on the forum for that. Since I have never seen you actually interpret anyones dream, or discuss the symbolism in peoples dreams, you may enjoy theology more than this section.

No no no no no no no. Humble, ALL of these things ARE blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Ppl do not repeat this person’s actions. If Ephesians 4:30 states, ‘Do not grieve the Holy Spirit,’ then what do you think insults are and resistance (aka REBELLION) is???

ALL of these actions have dire consequences. For instance the quote from Acts 7:51 CAN lead to a repeat of Isaiah 63:10, “Yet they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit. So he turned and became their enemy and he himself fought against them.”

1 Th 5:19 does NOT state the Holy Spirit can be quenched. On the contrary, that verse is saying do NOT ATTEMPT to quench the Holy Spirit. The same goes for Heb 10:29 which (in NIV) reads:

Hebrew 10:29
29 How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?

I wouldn't venture to guess. In other words, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INSULT THE HOLY SPIRIT AND THE RIGHTEOUS THINGS OF GOD. It can cost you.

And, lastly the Holy Spirit CANNOT be blasphemed, quieted or grieved. From one Christian to another, why would a Christian such as yourself want to commit these grievances in the first place?

You are mistaken. Those things are forgivable. Peter denied the Holy Spirit before men and he was forgiven and called to be an apostle. Paul persecuted Christians, he too was forgiven and called to be an apostle. The truths and the scriptures speak for themselves.

You are mistaken. Those things are forgivable. Peter denied the Holy Spirit before men and he was forgiven and called to be an apostle. Paul persecuted Christians, he too was forgiven and called to be an apostle. The truths and the scriptures speak for themselves.

First off, in a forum littered with impressionable young Christians who are just getting started on their faith walk, why are you encouraging them to sin and commit offenses against the Lord and the Holy Spirit? Your thoughts, actions and deeds have no light of dawn in them. You have been deluded by dark forces. You are putting a stumbling block before others when the Bible says FEAR GOD, I AM THE LORD.

People do not follow suit. As I have pointed out numerous times before, REBELLION against the Holy Spirit (and encouraging others to do the same) leads to DEATH and DAMNATION.

Neither of these APOSTLES DENIED the HOLY SPIRIT. That never happened in either case. Peter did NOT deny the Holy Spirit before men and was forgiven. See, people take note, when you habitually read Scripture you can’t be easily manipulated or led astray by the Devil’s schemes. This is why I encourage others to read their Bibles; however, I am starting to realize more than ever that no matter how much of a “devout Christian” one professes to be only a few will heed the warning and wisdom, while the majority will continue to disrespect, rebel and rebuke the HOLY things of God and still fully anticipate getting into Heaven on Judgment Day.

SMH. This couldn’t be further from the truth (I've witnessed it). But I digress b/c we all live and learn; we will all be held accountable for our individual choices and actions. Humble, the SINS YOU commit against the Heavenly Father, Scripture and the Holy Spirit will NOT be held against ME, RE or anyone else here. You are only doing yourself a disservice. I nor anyone else here will be marked for death for disobeying the Holy Spirit. Just keep that in mind.

Matthew 7:13
The Narrow and Wide Gates
13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.

Peter denied the Holy Spirit before men and he was forgiven and called to be an apostle.

This NEVER occurred. In John 18 Peter denied being a DISCIPLE in fear of his life after the Messiah had just been detained. Christ predicted ALL of THEM WOULD DO the EXACT SAME at the Last Supper in Mark 14:27 “You will all fall away,” Jesus told them, “for it is written: “‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered." None of the disciples were very brave at this point. But this is a far cry from DENYING the majesty, anointing and divinity of the Holy Spirit, which actually was NOT bestowed onto ANY of the disciples until AFTER this incident occurred and AFTER Christ’s DEATH and resurrection.

In these excerpts the first two passages from John are where Christ is discussing the anointing of the Holy Spirit before He dies on the cross. If you notice, He is speaking in future tense throughout b/c this anointing will not occur until AFTER He dies on the cross, as it is revealed in John 16 verse 7: But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8 When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment.

John 14
Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit
15 “If you love me, you will obey what I command. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. ... 25 “All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

John 16
The Work of the Holy Spirit
5 “Now I am going to him who sent me, yet none of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’ 6 Because I have said these things, you are filled with grief. 7 But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8 When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment:

12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.
16 “In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me.”

In the remaining passages, Christ has returned (after Peter's denial in John 18) to bestow the Holy Spirit onto all of His disciples.

John 20
Jesus Appears to His Disciples

19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” 20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.
21 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” 22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”

Acts 1
Jesus Taken Up Into Heaven

He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.4 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. 5 For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

7 He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

In this segment the disciples are FINALLY ANOINTED with the Holy Spirit for the FIRST TIME. I don't see Peter denying anything.

Acts 2
The Holy Spirit Comes at Pentecost

2 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
5 Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. 6 When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken.

12 Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?”
13 Some, however, made fun of them and said, “They have had too much wine.”

Peter Addresses the Crowd

14 Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. 15 These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! 16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 “‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.

32 God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it. 33 Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear.

37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

Acts 2 testifies to Peter’s reaction DIRECTLY AFTER being anointed with the Holy Spirit. In this passage it clearly shows that Peter is NOT denying the Holy Spirit before men, who wrote off all of Christ’s disciples as town drunks. “...15 These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! 16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel ...” On the contrary, he DEFENDS the Holy Spirit before men and saves 3,000 souls as a result.

Paul persecuted Christians, he too was forgiven and called to be an apostle.

Again, he also did NOT deny the unction or anointing of the Holy Spirit. Just the opposite occurred, in fact.

Acts 9
Saul’s Conversion
9 Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. ... 3 As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. 4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”

5 “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.
“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied. 6 “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

9 For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything.

10 In Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias. The Lord called to him in a vision, “Ananias!”
“Yes, Lord,” he answered.
11 The Lord told him, “Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying.12 In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight.”

17 Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”18 Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized, 19 and after taking some food, he regained his strength.

It honestly seems like pursuing this discussion is without merit. Keep in mind, in a Christian forum, you are witnessing to others with every keystroke. Encouraging others to INSULT, RESIST, GREIEVE and BLASPHEME the HOLY SPIRIT who bestows life (Romans 8) seems counterproductive to the body of Christ.

People test the spirits. By their fruits, ye will know them. We are all living and breathing spirits as well, so we need to be just as conscientious of our neighbors as we are of the unseen.

In pointing out Paul and Peter, I was illustrating and illuminating the true level and magnitude of God's real forgiveness, and this is what you repeatedly try to distort. You misrepresent the Lord and His true heart for His sheep. I hope no one fears the Lord in the way you preach. He loves us beyond our understanding. The scriptures say that "There is NO condemnation to those in Christ". You cannot change the "heart" of those words, or try to scare people with fear, and beat them with their own bibles, or nullify the true meaning of grace of Jesus. You would benefit from changing mentors, who have obviouly not guided you to, or with, the love of God.

Encouraging others to INSULT, RESIST, GREIEVE and BLASPHEME the HOLY SPIRIT .... I have not done that. You misrepresent me and my faith in our Lord. You blaspheme against the Spirit that lives in me. If you can "really" hear the Lord speak to you, feel free to ask Him who I am.

People test the spirits. By their fruits, ye will know them. Yes, I too invite the readers (that is if they have not been bored with it by now) to take look at the fruits that have inclusively been typed on this thread. You will see who is insulting, cruel, accusing others using distortion and misrepresentation. See how many people have been offended by you on this thread with your own comments. They are the already existing witnesses to the real fruit here. I also invite anyone, who i interested, to read all of your posts on this forum, and then the truth will be witnessed once again.

Humble, bless you child.

In pointing out Paul and Peter, I was illustrating and illuminating the true level and magnitude of God's real forgiveness,

Like this one (and others scattered about) A LOT of your statements on Scripture are HIGHLY inaccurate. It’s been that way for the last 3-4 posts. This is why I encourage others to read more, practice spiritual discernment, and test the spirits before heeding to random “words of wisdom.” Faulty theology leads to misguided philosophy. That is why I keep trying to point out these discrepancies to you, to no avail (unfortunately).

Encouraging others to INSULT, RESIST, GREIEVE and BLASPHEME the HOLY SPIRIT ... I have not done that.

Yes, you have.

The PASTORS (the tested, vetted and seasoned anointed who were called to minster) were saying that for a REAL reason. Humble, maybe you feel (not exactly sure how though) that you are not encouraging others to insult, grieve and blaspheme the Holy Spirit b/c you didn’t issue a directive, or formal edict when you typed out the above statements; however, that’s not how it reads.

When you state, ‘...the Holy Spirit can be: Resisted, Quenched, Grieved, Quieted and Insulted – None of these are Blasphemy!’ what impression are you leaving with other readers who are newbies in Christ??? You are giving these newbies in Christ the impression that if they insult the Holy Spirit, if they grieve the Holy Spirit, if they rebel (or resist) the Holy Spirit NO harm will come to them. <<<< None of this is true. All of this, indeed, is yet again highly inaccurate. The misinformation that you continually present can, in fact, lead you and other Christians to death, damnation and destruction.

Is this what you truly desire for yourself or your fellowman in Christ???

See how many people have been offended by you on this thread with your own comments. They are the already existing witnesses to the real fruit here. I also invite anyone, who is interested, to read all of your posts on this forum, and then the truth will be witnessed once again.

I am not actually saying or doing anything wrong besides, I don’t know, from one Christian to another, remarking on the fact that this is a spirit forum in which one can access the realms of Heaven and Hell spoken of in Scripture. I don’t know. Sounds like wise advice to me since not many others have clued in on this fact, so I would encourage others to reread all my previous posts as well. Honestly, this isn’t NORMAL. Nope. Never happens. Only when I am dealing with a certain caliber of Christian is this reaction to be expected. That’s why I am not sweating it. I know I am a loving wonderful compassionate person through and through.

Babies in Christ (regardless of the age or length of salvation) don’t and won’t carry themselves like mature adults. It just can’t and doesn’t happen FOR REAL. They aren’t maturing in the things of God (and DON’T want to be told they have to), so what more can one expect??? That’s all I see happening here in this thread, in this exchange and in previous interactions.

God bless

Lets get to the root of your beliefs. What in your mind qualifies as a "specific" (not abstract) unforgivable mortal sin of blaspheming the Holy Spirit?

Let's go with an example of rebelling against the Holy Spirit that I am sure God nor Christ would appreciate or tolerate.

Ignoring your calling in the body of Christ is a sin that I believe can and does lead to death all the time (Revelation 2-3). For instance, Christ calls you to be a pastor or prophet, but instead of taking this mission seriously and studying the Word of God, you can't (or don't) give up the street life and decide to party your days away.

Come Judgement Day (whether one is a Christian or not) I believe there will be hell to pay for rebelling against the Holy Spirit in this way. Does that make sense? This is the logic that is at the core of my beliefs.

I stated this in another thread:

Until you see a baby in Christ actually lose his salvation in the blink of an eye b/c Christ, the JUDGE, rained down pure terror and smite right after he cursed at a prophet of God ....

Matthew 25:30
30 And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

No. I asked you to answer a very specific question. I will not reason with you further until you have answered it.

I praise Jesus, I do not know the perverted God you worship.....harsh and cold.....no love...no forgiveness or compassion...no grace..no truth...no true understanding of what Jesus did for you, no understanding or personal knowedge of His personality and His heart.....the ability to abuse His Word to prove perversions of God's real intent..and to use it to punish people with fear in His name. He is not as you say He is. I know Him, as do many of my brothers and sisters here. I want you to know Him in the truest sense. I will pray for you and hope that others here will join in to pray too.....to ask Him to show you in the coming days His true self. May it be so. Amen.

Until you see a baby in Christ actually lose his salvation in the blink of an eye b/c Christ, the JUDGE, rained down pure terror and smite right after he cursed at a prophet of God ....

I understand that this does seem like a harsh reality (believe you me, I've been there), but there are a few things you should consider here.

(1) If you think this seems harsh, you should see what Satan's capable of. *See previous posts.*

(2) As I keep trying to point out to everyone, WE ARE ALL dealing with the spirit realm here. REAL GODS, REAL ANGELS, REAL SPIRITS, REAL ANOINTING. None of this stuff should be trifled with in the least bit, especially when it comes to the Holy Spirit (but you refuse to listen). GODS are not subject to mere mortals under any capacity. That logic doesn't make a lick of sense.

(3) THE GOD, JUDGE AND JURY named JESUS CHRIST said He most certainly is capable of all of these things in the Book of Revelation. That's why it pays to read.

Revelation 2-3

If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.... 6 Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. ...21 I have given her time to repent of her immorality, but she is unwilling. 22 So I will cast her on a bed of suffering, and I will make those who commit adultery with her suffer intensely, unless they repent of her ways. 23 I will strike her children dead. .... But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you... because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

What in your mind qualifies as a "specific" (not abstract) unforgivable mortal sin of blaspheming the Holy Spirit?

Honestly, A LOT of the things YOU were saying in this thread qualifies as blaspheming against the Holy Spirit. However, I am not comfortable with passing judgment on others, so I will refrain from labeling it as an "unforgivable mortal sin" one way or the other. I am honestly not comfortable with pursuing this line of questioning (PERIOD). I know how to guard my thoughts, so I will have to abandon this conversation if it is becoming too intrusive.

I didn't think you could answer that question.
I am done too, but will pray as I have said before.

Humble, I don't know what to tell you. You are right. I couldn't answer the question. There's a very specific reason for that. I DON'T THINK ON THIS LEVEL. I DON'T THINK OR OPERATE ON YOUR LEVEL. I don't even know what it feels like honestly. I don't go around judging people for their faults or shortcomings ... b/c the Bible tells me so. If one sins against me, I practice instantaneous forgiveness ... b/c the Bible tells me so. If the Bible says JUDGE NOT lest ye be JUDGED, I don't see that as an invite to do so (unlike some people).

So I don't have an answer for you when it comes to this question: What in your mind qualifies as a "specific" (not abstract) unforgivable mortal sin of blaspheming the Holy Spirit?

God bless
