We are looking into new technology atmospheric water generators for a potential drinking water solution. In the deep south, our average humidity is about 70%, making water from air possible (the humidity for the last month has been in the 90s). It is a little expensive. I am concerned about maintenance.

"In general, the higher relative humidity and ambient temperature, the higher amount of water will be produced by Lekocyco A20L atmospheric water generator. The estimated 24 hours water production of A20L depends on the relative humidity and ambient temperature. A20L can produce up to 20 liters of pure water from the air based on 30C and RH 80%. The operating environment condition range for A20L is RH from 30% to 99% and temperature from 15C to 45C. By considering optimal, cost-effective and safe use, A20L must comply with the following conditions: 1) A20L must be positioned at least 30 cm from any walls or other structures from all sides, such as by placing in the middle of the long wall for optimum air circulation in the space. 2) It is still necessary to supply fresh moist air, choose the location wisely, such as lobby, corridors, halls, auditoriums, covered terraces and roofs, kitchen, the dining room and forced air change, or high concentrations of relative humidity, such as gyms, winter gardens etc. Otherwise it may cause dry air in the room and improper machine operation. 3) A20L must not be installed next to radiators or heaters."

We have a strange water table situation. We have a higher table, about 70 feet, and a deeper table, 300 feet. There are a lot of farms around here, and I do not trust the shallow table and suspect it may be full of contaminants. If we were to dig a well, I think we would go for the deeper table. Alas, it would be harder to pump manually in a grid-down scenario.

500 watts is going to make your water far more expensive than the one coming out of the faucet.

I'm strongly convinced this tech is based on heat exchanger tech, the same stuff found inside your fridge and A/C.

I live in the tropics and ironically, we collected the water runoff from our 750 watts A/C on a 20 liter pail. The pail would be full after 48 hours of continuously running A/C. We used that water for the garden plants.

It doesn't make as much water as the linked product because an A/C is supposed to be run in an enclosed room which means the humidity in the room is going to be lower than outside.

The product is essentially an A/C unit at its core it won't actually take a lot of modification to make it both generate water and cool your room at the same time and maybe more energy efficient to use the product in such manner.
