Current law does.
First, that will change. Just wait until our next president gets a couple court appointments.

Second, show me the exact law that gives a private citizen the right to own a 16” gun with ammo.

And in that war they raised an army, they did not rely on militia. Washington actually had very little good to say about the militia.

And still waiting for anyone to answer my question—where does the Cobstitution say that the purpose of the militia is to take on the US government?

It all comes down to who grants the power to whom.

So you have the right to keep a 16" battleship gun and ammo in your backyard? Really?

The definition of a firearm is :

"a small arms weapon, as a rifle or pistol, from which a projectile is fired by gunpowder."

the definition of firearm

That does not fit in the definition of a 16" battleship gun now does it? But a rifle, pistol, or other portable gun does fit the definition of a firearm.

There are no exact laws that give citizens a right to do anything. When laws are enacted, they are there to limit what person can do or own. In other words, you're free to do or own something unless there is a law that says you can't.

But the 2nd Amendment uses the term “arms” not “firearms”. A 16 inch gun does fit the definition of the term “arms”,

See post #145. If there is no law against something, you are free to do it/own it.
